7 Nights, Unlimited Rounds
Ambre Mauritius sits in Palmar on the east coast, roughly an hour from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport and Port Louis, with Ile aux Cerfs about 20 minutes away. The resort runs along 700 metres of white sand beach on a sheltered bay, backed by a lagoon that's home to tropical fish and marine life worth snorkelling over. The location strikes a useful balance: close enough to the airport and capital that you're not spending half your holiday in transit, but far enough out that you're properly on the coast with the beach and lagoon right there.
The all-inclusive setup keeps the on-site costs predictable, with dining and drinks covered and a good spread of activities available. Water sports are laid on extensively, from windsurfing and aqua gym to banana rides and parasailing, so there's plenty to keep non-golfers entertained while you're out on the course. The pool sits at the heart of the resort and works equally well for proper swimming or just floating about with a drink.
Who is this for?
Golfers, couples or small groups who want an easy all-inclusive base on Mauritius' east coast, with straightforward access to Ile aux Cerfs and plenty to do off the course.
Who is it best for?
Mixed-ability groups who like a 'golf plus beach' split, and anyone who values simple logistics (short transfers, organised shuttles) over five-star formality.

The resort offers 297 rooms set among tropical gardens, each designed with modern, peaceful tones and a stylish ambiance that suits the island setting. Rooms are spread across four categories: standard, superior, family units and two suites. All come with flat-screen TVs showing English channels, individually controlled air conditioning and mini-bars, so you've got the basics covered without any fuss. The rooms are comfortable and modern without being overly formal, and the tropical garden setting gives the place a relaxed, holiday feel rather than a corporate resort vibe.
The dining setup reflects the tropical, laid-back feel of the place. Indigo is the main restaurant, running live interactive buffet stations with Indian, Chinese and Creole specialities, giving you a proper mix of flavours and fresh local ingredients. Dolce Vita offers trattoria-style Italian dining when you want something more focused, while La Plage is the beach restaurant serving Mediterranean and Mauritian dishes with your feet practically in the sand. The Coral Bar stocks an extensive list of exotic cocktails, ideal for sundowners, and The Pub is where you'll find sport on the screens and a more casual atmosphere. The variety means you can keep things interesting across a week-long stay without feeling like you're eating the same buffet every night, and the beachfront setting at La Plage is worth timing for sunset if you can swing it.

Overall staff experience was excellent. All were happy, committed to helping out and to provide a positive customer stay. The beach location is second to none - sandy beaches and a safe sea. Bars and restaurants were of high quality. La Dolce Vita restauarant suffered a little because of works taking place in the kitchen area so menus were restricted and duplicated. Our room (309) was clean, spacious and had an outdoor area which we had specified on the booking but was let down by a very small toilet area next to the bathroom. Very good overall value for money.

The hotel is nice, maybe a little tired but perfectly acceptable, the restaurants were good but didn’t think much to the Italian Doltia vita, but again that could just be me and my taste. The staff make the hotel they are very friendly and attentive

On arrival at 07:20 after a long flight we asked to use shower facilities but were told we had to book two days in advance but on departure we could only book on that day which is strange When getting to our room it turned out to be a double that could not be split so that took a couple of hours for us to sort out a new room with two singles just hassle after a long flight that wasn’t needed when specifically ordered a twin on booking Hotel was adequate transfers were good and course was lovely We weren’t told that lunch and two beers were included after golf until another guest informed us but otherwise lovely golf course

Lovely 4* hotel. The Italian restaurant is very good. Buffet gets a little repetitive over a 2 week stay. The organisation of the golf transfers was very poor. Arrived on island too early for tee time. Return bus transfer was also scheduled too early which meant you were unable to take advantage of the food & drink after your round as you had to rush to get the allocated bus back to hotel.

Rooms are dated but clean. Superior garden rooms not adequate for two weeks , upgrade essential. Food in restaurants is good. Difficult to find smoke free areas in bars. Locating sun beds after playing golf impossible as beds reserved at 7am. Staff at the hotel are very helpful and friendly.
