Aulanko Golf

The two golf courses at Aulanko, the historic 9-hole Hugo course and the modern 18-hole Eversti course, are both named after Colonel Hugo Standerstsköld. The Colonel was one of the wealthiest men of his time in Finland and the founder of the English style landscape park at Aulanko in the 1880’s.

Like its neighbour Tawast Golf Club, Aulanko is close to Linna Golf Resort making it east to stay there and play this course also.

Aulanko is located in the city of Hämeenlinna, no more than an hour by car from Helsinki. The golf season at Aulanko normally starts in early May and ends in mid-October.

Golf Courses at Aulanko Golf

Eversti Course

Eversti, which is the Finnish word for colonel, opened for play in 2006. It hosted the national Amateur Championships in 2012. The 18-hole Eversti course is located at the edge of the landscape park, under the eye of the Lookout Tower. Despite its 'recent' opening in 2006, the Lassi Pekka Tilander design sits in the culturally scenic landscape as if it has been there for several decades. Course Rating: PAR 72

Hugo Course

Hugo, first opened in 1940, is the oldest course in Finland still retaining its original routing. A Scotsman named Fred Smith designed the 9-hole Hugo course in 1940. Steeply sloped greens and mature oak trees will test any golfer’s short game and patience. You will be hard-pressed to find a more unique golf experience anywhere in the world. The Hugo course has its own small clubhouse and a driving range.
