The Bracken Court Hotel sits just minutes from the coast, a short drive north of the city of Dublin. It's a friendly four-star base that works brilliantly for golf groups who want easy access to some of the capital's best-known courses, without staying right in the middle of the city.
You're well placed for Portmarnock, a renowned links test that's rightly on many golfers' Dublin wish list. There are plenty of other Dublin-area options within an easy radius too, so it suits long weekends where you want variety without spending half the trip in a minibus.
Off the course, you've got two strong choices. Head into the city for pubs, restaurants and live music, or keep it simple and stay put with the hotel's own bar and grill. That mix is exactly what most societies want, a straightforward set-up that keeps everyone happy, from the early-to-bed crew to the "one more pint" crowd.
Who is this for?
Golfers who want a coastal base near Dublin with simple logistics and a solid bar and restaurant on-site.
Who is it best for?
Societies and friends' trips chasing Portmarnock and other Dublin favourites, with the option to dip into the city without paying city-centre prices.

The Bracken Court has 66 comfortable guestrooms with Respa beds and good-quality furnishings, ideal when you've got an early tee time or you're playing 36. Rooms include cable TV, Wi-Fi, a hospitality tray, direct-dial telephone and 24-hour room service as standard. If you're travelling as a group or just want more space to spread out, the suites add extra room to unwind, recap the round and plan the next day's golf.
Food is well set up for golf schedules. Service runs through to 10pm, which is handy if your final tee time creeps into the late afternoon. Breakfast includes both buffet and cooked options, while the carvery lunch is a dependable pre-golf refuel if you're heading out later. In the evening, The Bracken Grill is the main event, a well-regarded local option that's become a favourite for an easy, good-quality dinner on-site. The menu focuses on well-executed classics like surf and turf, making it a reliable choice whether you're celebrating a good round or simply looking for a decent meal without leaving the hotel.
The bar is a genuine highlight. It attracts locals as well as hotel guests, so it feels lively rather than leftover. It's exactly the kind of place you want after 18 holes, somewhere you can debrief over a pint, watch a bit of sport and keep the evening moving without needing taxis into town. For groups, this blend of on-site dining, a lively bar and proximity to Dublin's nightlife makes the Bracken Court a practical, sociable base that handles both the golf and the evenings without compromise.
