A very nice course with perhaps the most picturesque coastal views we’ve personally played. Overall condition of the course was tip top, if not for a few pitch marks not repaired on greens. Pace of play is very slow, we had 3 5-hour rounds where we are typically quite fast players, so perhaps this is just the way of holiday golf. However to be offered a ‘twilight’ time of 13:40 which we couldn’t actually finish due to lack of light and being constantly held up by slow play in front, the clubhouse was then also closed so we were unable to have a drink/some food afterwards. To travel 2000 miles and pay a lot of money to then not be able to complete the round and have a closed clubhouse was disappointing. There was also very minimal usage, or effectiveness, of marshals to speed slower players up, with them all seemingly having gone home for the day at the end of that later tee time, when the course desperately needed play to be sped up in order to finish before dark, but instead we were waiting 15 minutes minimum on each tee. Besides the pace of play and fading light, the rest of the course was brilliant, a lovely place to play golf. Just ensure you are aware it will be a slow round and you’d need to avoid afternoon tee times if possible. Maybe this is something YGT could disclose when booking with customers.
