Set in classic Wiltshire countryside halfway between Bath and Bristol, Cumberwell Park Golf Club has been a proper favourite in the West since 1994. Golf World handed it four stars, and once you see the scale of the place you'll get it. It's Wiltshire's only 45-hole venue, with four nine-hole loops plus a handy par-3 course, so there's loads of golf without the usual 'same 18 again' feeling.
The best bit, in my opinion, is the flexibility. Mix and match the four loops and you can build different 18-hole combinations across a weekend, which is ideal for groups who want variety without travelling between courses. Short on time? The par-3 course is perfect for a quick nine, a warm-up or a bit of wedge work before your main round.
Practice facilities are strong too, with a 20-bay driving range (10 covered), a 1,800-square-metre short game area and two extra putting greens. So if you like arriving early to dial in your distances, you'll be in your element.
Cumberwell Park sits right at the heart of our Bristol and Bath golf tours, making it a straightforward add-on if you're building a multi-course trip in the region. And if you fancy going all-in, there are on-site cottages, so you can stay where you play and squeeze plenty of holes into a long weekend.
Who is this for?
Golfers looking for variety and volume in a single location, groups wanting flexible routing options across multiple days and anyone planning a Bristol or Bath golf tour who values strong practice facilities and on-site accommodation.
Who is it best for?
Mid-to-low handicappers who want to test different course combinations, societies seeking a self-contained base with plenty of golf on tap and visitors to the West Country who prefer staying where they play rather than moving between hotels.

The 36 hole golfing complex is set in a stunning Wiltshire countryside estate and has been designed to be enjoyed by all golfers. Mapped out by Adrian Stiff, the golfing options are comprised of 4 very individual 9-hole loops, which together represent the perfect balance woodland and water features.
All greens and tees at Cumberwell Park have been constructed in accordance with USGA principles, ensuring that they remain in good condition throughout the year. The club’s facilities continue to develop and grow, which is why Cumberwell Park has become one of the most desirable inclusions in any golf tour around Bath and Bristol.
Converted from an old Tythe Barn, Cumberwell Park's nine self-catering holiday cottages give you an easy base if you're planning to play a couple of different 18-hole combinations across the estate's 45 holes. The cottages sleep between two and 10 guests, so they work just as well for couples as they do for a fourball or a larger society group.
Inside, you've got the practical stuff golfers actually need on a trip: underfloor heating for cooler months, a fully fitted kitchen, en-suite bedrooms, TVs and a private patio for a post-round drink. The big win is flexibility. You can get breakfast done early, head straight to the first tee and come back to your own place afterwards, without being tied to hotel meal times.
Staying on-site also makes it easier to maximise your golf. With the courses, driving range and short game area all just minutes away, you can fit in a warm-up session, a quick practice loop on the par-3 course or an extra nine without worrying about travel. It's not something you find every day at a UK venue, and it means you can really make the most of the 45 holes on offer.
The cottages suit mixed groups too. If not everyone is playing every day, there's space to relax between rounds, and the location between Bath and Bristol makes it easy to mix golf with a bit of city time. For groups who want plenty of golf, good practice facilities and the convenience of staying right on the venue, Cumberwell Park is a simple, value-driven choice for a West Country break.

again given the weather for the day rain and very strong winds I was surprised the course was open but it was so played it and given the conditions the course was very good will certainly return to play again in better weather

Everybody had played this course before but were still able to enjoy it when the sun came out. It was the furthest to get to and on a Friday took longer than expected to get to from the Hotel. Perhaps Tracey Park which was nearer might have been better.
