The Hills Course at Costa Navarino gets under your skin from the first tee. José María Olazábal has used the natural terrain around Kalamata brilliantly, routing the course through elevation changes and contours that make you think your way round rather than just lash driver and hope for the best.
Strategy is everything here. You'll often need to work the ball both ways to open up the best angles into the greens. Miss a fairway and it's not only rough you're dealing with, it's awkward approaches and pins you can't attack.
The greens are where the Hills really bites. They're quick, undulating and can be deceptively multi-tiered, so leaving the ball underneath the hole matters. Get on the wrong level and a three-putt suddenly feels very possible.
With the scenery across the Messinian landscape, plus conditioning that's usually excellent, it's no surprise this course has become a standout for golfers planning a Greece golf break. It's quickly becoming one of the finest courses in the country and a real highlight of any Costa Navarino itinerary.

The Hills Course, designed by Jose Maria Olazabal, is another excellent golf course within the resort of Costa Navarino.
Golfers heading to play The Hills Courses should pack their cameras. The views afforded from start to finish are amongst the most picturesque anywhere in the world. Olazabal said the Navarino Hills project was "among the most beautiful properties we have ever had the chance to work on".
The views are matched by lush Greek countryside that meanders through mature olive trees. With a bit more room off the tee than The International Olympic Academy Course, which was also designed by Olazabal, The Hills is a very enjoyable place to play and suitable for a range of handicaps.

Probably the toughest of the courses but the fairest I would say.
Played from the whites a bit penal in parts with hazards being marked on only one side of the course. Wayward shots requiring a provisional or return to point of play. We chose to play all rocky and shrub areas as red stakes to keep the speed up.
