Hotel Alay 4*

Very good base for trip. Close to good bars and restaurants.

Very poor standard rooms - extremely basic, not tea/coffee facilities. Dated rooms - impractical layout for 3 beds. Breakfast was possibly the worst ive had in any Spanish resort. Extremely poor quality food. I would not recommend the breakfast option.

Great hotel, central location, food really nice and staff are so helpful.

Using it as a base to play golf it’s ideal , rooms are adequate and facilities ok , having early tee times we were out by 7.30am but there is major building works being carried out at present opposite , and we were woken at 7.50am on our departure day with construction noise

Decent hotel well situated for the restaurants and bars of the marina. Breakfast was average but value for money given the price.

4 start hotel gets a 4 star review, check in was a bit of hassle, no benefit of giving names of people sharing rooms before. Most of the staff were friendly though overall.

Hotel was nice easy to get to from the aiport. Quite close to the marina so did get quite noisey of an evening.

A good hotel for our golf stay. Would have liked a kettle in the room for a cup of tea. Also bar closed before 12 midnight and we went elsewhere for a "nightcap"

Great location and very nice, tidy, clean hotel - the only disappointment was we were not made aware of construction work affecting one side of the hotel - the hotel did offer to move the people in affected rooms but as we were all unpacked we decided against it.

Our golfing group of 6 ladies were delighted with Hotel Alay. Our rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The cleaners were in regularly to make our beds and tidy up.There we’re a few issues with my room which were attended to and quickly resolved. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent with a great range of food both hot and cold. It had a wide range of fresh fruit drinks , beautiful coffee, hot chocolate and tea. Also a range of beautiful fresh fruit. We had a choice of freshly made pancakes and omelettes. All the staff in the hotel were pleasant and helpful.

Very functional hotel with not a lot of character but right for our party of 8 golfers. Great location for Benalmadena marina with a good choice of bars and many restaurants close by. No Tea and coffee making facilities in the room which you would normally expect for a 4 * property. Breakfast buffet varied and plentiful. Travel time to our courses booked was generally 30-40 minutes each way depending on traffic on the main coast road so would likely look to stay somewhere further south if we booked again.

Great location, friendly staff and massive selection of hot and cold food for breakfast. Good bar facilities and pool, which was “lovely once you were in”.😀 Only downside was that there was no air conditioning in the rooms. Apparently it was still “winter” in April and 26 degree heat didn’t warrant air conditioning as it was still set in heating mode.

Awesome trip for 20 guys.YGT made it easy to book and great service all the way through. Have booked for the last 15 years with Nick Bishop and he always comes up with a great trip. The App is great as well so you always know what the trip is and payments. Must have been a good trip 20 golfers want to come next year.thanks again for a great trip. A great location, just a 2 minute walk to the beach and the marina. Lots of choice for breakfast in the restaurant. Rooms could be abit more spacious and tea making facilities are essential for visiting Brits!

Always on point

Hotel (Hotel Alay) was great and nicely positioned in the marina for easy access to great restaurants and plenty of night life.

Hotel was very basic. Wouldn’t have classed it as a 4 star hotel. Room very small. Pool areas small and not enough space for the amount of guests. Breakfast was cold every morning even on the days we were down for it opening at 7am. We had to travel by taxi every day to the golf courses. 1st day cost 80 euro. 2nd day wasn’t as bad as it was 20 euro. The third day was 70 euro. I was really disappointed as this really added to the cost of the trip. Any other trip I have been on had free shuttle provided.

Hotel, Staff, Location, amenities were all great.

Hotel was in a great position, staff were very helpful, rooms were fine. It would have been lovely to have tea/coffee in the room for a morning cuppa. Apart from that it was great.

Location excellent, staff very friendly and polite. The economy rooms are very small for 2 people, the hotel receptionist rectified this for me and I was moved to a larger room.

Lovely modern hotel right on marina could not fault it, apart from they are removing the whole road outside we never new of top to bottom.

Great location right next to the marina and local restaurants and bars. The Hotel was great and the breakfast excellent with lots of choice. Let down only by the quality of the rooms, but was fine for us for a few days.

The hotel was lovely, nice and clean, staff friendly, food could have been better and required heating up in the microwave as was often quite cold. Although on the 11th floor were woken up on several occasions in the night with noise from clubs and deliveries.

Great location, breakfast poor. Room quality avg and patio door handle fell off. Very small pools and very little room around the pools.

Have to say after staying here before we were a little disappointed in the rooms didnt seem as clean as previous stay my shared room looked out on a dirty roof and a mucky old car park big disappointment was the jaccuzi were out of bounds which were always a bonus after golf

Lovely location only a stone’s throw from the Marina. Good room with partial sea view. Car park expensive @ 10 euros a day, most of the time automatic number plate recognition did not work to let you out, and had to go back to reception to get them to open the barrier!! Food good but not very varied on half board option. Pool table, not billiards as stated.

Great Hotel in a great location. Loads of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Also great golf courses all within a 45 min drive.

Well this hotel was recommended by Alex for our stay. Can't praise it enough. Fabulous in all departments. Especially all the staff which were so helpful and professional and were spotless . There was 4 of us and we all loved the food morning and evening which was great value and tasty. So a big thank you from all our group for such a lovely stay. And also thanks Alex for recommending it.

The room for the golf equipment is inconvenient for players as they cant pack appropriately that day for the days golf from their own room.
