Set right on the white sand of Playa Bavaro, Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites is a five-star, all-inclusive resort with the Caribbean on your doorstep and the golf just a short walk away. The beach here is the postcard version, bright sand and that unreal turquoise water, which makes the pre-round stroll to breakfast feel like part of the holiday, not just the warm-up.

The resort is laid out like a small Caribbean town, with low-rise buildings, walkways through tropical gardens and enough space that it doesn't feel like you're trapped in a concrete complex. It's a strong fit for families, but it also works brilliantly for couples and golf groups who want everything in one place, decent evening options and no logistics headaches between rounds.

On site you've got a three-storey fitness centre, the SPA Sensations spa for post-round recovery and more than a dozen places to eat and drink. The big selling point for golfers is the nearby P.B. Dye designed 18-hole golf course, a proper resort test with plenty of bite if you're not switched on. If you're booking a winter-sun escape and want beach time, golf and a smooth all-inclusive setup, this one ticks a lot of boxes.

Who is this for?
Golfers travelling with non-golfers, plus families who want an easy all-inclusive base with direct beach access and plenty to do off the course.

Who is it best for?
Couples and groups who want a high-quality Dominican Republic golf holiday where rounds, food, drinks and downtime all sit under one roof.

Accommodation at Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites

Rooms are individually furnished and make a comfortable base for a week of early tee times and lazy beach afternoons. Expect air conditioning, a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, coffee maker, in-room safe, daily minibar service, an iron and iroding board plus a balcony or terrace. It's the kind of setup that works whether you're here for a long golf trip or a shorter break, with enough space and comfort to make the room feel like a proper base rather than just somewhere to sleep between rounds.

Food is a big part of the appeal. There are 14 venues in total, including a buffet for quick breakfasts before golf and several themed à la carte restaurants when you want to slow the evening down. You can rotate through Japanese, Mediterranean and Italian options across the week without it feeling repetitive, which is exactly what you want on an all-inclusive stay. The quality across the board is high enough that dinner becomes something to look forward to rather than just fuel for the next day's golf.

For a post-round drink, you're covered. There's a beach bar for sundowners, a swim-up bar for pool days and a nightclub if your group is keen to keep the evening going. As ever, inclusions can vary by package, so it's worth checking what's covered when you book.

Facilities-wise, the grounds are smart and well kept, with a large pool, loungers and parasols. There's also a sauna, a schedule of activities such as kickboxing and yoga, a PADI-certified diving school and a gym that's more serious than the usual token hotel setup. The pool bar serves chilled drinks and light snacks throughout the day, which is ideal if you're spending the afternoon by the water after a morning round.

In short, it's a resort where golfers can play, recover and repeat, while everyone else still feels like they're on a proper holiday. The mix of quality golf, strong dining variety and proper beach access makes it a solid choice for groups who want winter sun, hassle-free logistics and the flexibility to balance golf with downtime.

We had to pay another £400 to stay nearer to the beach and main restaurants and reception as we had golf clubs to carry, the main restaurant was very good but service very slow and generally surly Other special restaurants well below par, our junior suite was well below our expectations !!
