Doubletree by Hilton Islantilla Golf Resort

The hotel was very clean, we upgraded to a king deluxe room which was large and well equipped overlooking the 9th hole on the blue course and it was nice and quiet too. It had a decent sized ensuite with a walk in shower and the maids came every day. All the staff were friendly and were very attentive, the food was good. Both breakfast and the evening meal were buffet style and the choice varied each night and was well prepared and varied, though some of the meat we had from the freshly cooked section was sometimes over salted but with everything else on offer this was just a minor point. The pool was clean and was nice and relaxed while we were there. The hotel was very busy on the Saturday night as there was a big influx of guests staying just one night, so it pays to get to the restaurant early that night. Consider settling your bill before if you're leaving Sunday morning to avoid any big queues.

The hotel itself was great, beautifully clean and the food was great, lots to choose from. The staff were really friendly and on hand when required. The rooms were comfortable and had enough space. The hotel is out the way a bit, if you’re looking for nightlife and bars off site then you might struggle. Very peaceful and relaxing. Overall the group was really happy here

We were a group of 8 and we're allocated rooms on all levels of the hotel each had a balcony some looking over the course each had tea makeing facilities rooms were clean and we're cleaned on a daily basis showers were good hot and powerful Aircon was working and much needed no complaints

There were no drawers in the room so we had to keep sone clothes in an open suitcase. On 2 nights the bar had no baileys cream liqueur which we had been having every night. A basic drink we were surprised they ran out of.

Great hotel,friendly staff,good choice of food at breakfast and dinner. Quality of beer served in the drinks package was very poor.

We booked a buggy as part of our golf package and we're glad we did. Water in the proshop was only €2.50 for 1.5L which we thought was very reasonable and there's a toilet on each 9 you can top your water up. Again the staff were very friendly and helpful both in the proshop and at the caddy master. There are 3 9 holes courses, Green (the easiest) yellow (in the middle) and Blue (the most difficult) and you play the Green/Blue Yellow/Green or Blue/Yellow combinations. All 3 9's are a challenge, many of the holes have OOB or Red penalty areas throughout their lengths so strategy and accuracy is key to a good score and provide an intetesting challenge for all levels of golfers. The greens were very good indeed, they use a type of grass quite typical in hotter climates and they were running more slowly than my home course in the UK but were true and the bent grass greens we have at home would not survive in the heat. They were though very receptive which I liked so you could attack the pins if you were on the fairway. My WHS handicap is 9.4 and found it an interesting challenge every day (we played 5 rounds) I would suggest you use castle tees as the tees have tough spongy grass which normal tees can have a problem with. This was our 4th time at Islantilla, the last time being in 2019 and we both though both the corses and the hotel had improved since we were there last. It was very good value for money when we went and plan to go again. The transfers from Faro airport provided by YGT were very good, on time and used decent vehicles. We found our driver at the airport easily as the transfer company had A proper YGT sign with ours and other clients names on which was easy to spot. I requested an earlier pick up for our return before we left the uk to offset any delays the EES system caused and also booked the fast track through security on the airports website. If you're flexible about your travel dates have a look at the airline you want to travel with's website to check the cost of your flights and ask YGT to book your holiday based on those flights as you can save a lot of money by choosing cheaper ones and YGT pass on those savings. All in all we had a great time and will use YGT again.

All three nine hole course were absolutely great, we had a mixed range of golfers in our group and all of us enjoyed these tracks. Greens were very receptive and true, my only gripe would be the tee boxes were a bit untidy, grass was too long. Very easy to get buggies and reasonably priced.

The course was 3x9 holes green/yellow/blue we found the yellow the most difficult a lot of dog legs on yellow we found there wasn't a lot of roll on the fairway and around the greens there were a lot of repairs going on around the greens which prevented the balls travel .some of the greens needed attention as they were pitted and made putting difficult. overall it was very testing but our group enjoyed all of the courses down side most days it was a 5 HR round

Only one out of 5 rounds was over 5 hours, otherwise it was average. One of the three nines was harder than the other 2 but interesting.

We all had a fantastic time yellow and blue course as a combination is second to none.green course was more than adequate. Overall a great challenge.
