Tivoli La Caleta Tenerife Resort

Excellent See all 12 reviews

Set on Tenerife's southwest coast within easy reach of Tenerife South Airport, Tivoli La Caleta Resort is a smart pick for golfers who want winter sun without the long-haul. You're based in a calm, upmarket corner of Costa Adeje, close to the coastal walkway and some of the best beaches nearby, so it's easy to mix early tee times with lazy afternoons by the sea.

What makes La Caleta work especially well is how quickly you can spread your rounds across the island's headline courses. Costa Adeje is just over a kilometre away and a must-play for most groups, while Las Americas is around a 10-minute drive for a different feel and a great change of pace. If you fancy a day exploring the south coast, Golf del Sur and Amarilla are both doable in under 30 minutes.

For many, the standout round is Abama Resort, widely seen as Tenerife's toughest and most memorable test. If you're planning a full week, we'd recommend mixing Costa Adeje and Las Americas with one 'big day' at Abama to keep the variety high. Accommodation at Tivoli La Caleta Tenerife Resort

The resort's 284 rooms and suites sit in lush tropical gardens, each with a private terrace to make the most of the sea air. Interiors keep it calm and modern with natural tones and materials, plus the practical touches golfers actually use, including quality spa products, up-to-date in-room tech and a coffee machine for the early start before your tee time. If you're travelling as a couple, a sea-view room is ideal for sunset downtime, while larger terrace options suit anyone who likes a bit more space between rounds.

Suites bring a clear step up with separate living space and a more premium finish. You also get access to the Tivoli VIP Breakfast & Lounge, with an à la carte breakfast and complimentary refreshments during the day, which is a handy perk if your group is on mixed tee times or you want a relaxed, flexible start.

Food and drink is a real plus here. The three Olivier da Costa restaurants give you plenty of choice across the week, taking in flavours from Lisbon, São Paulo and Bangkok, so you're not stuck with the same menu every night. SEEN Beach Club is the livelier option when you fancy cocktails and a bit of atmosphere after golf, with bold plates, exotic drinks and a beachfront setting that works well for groups.

If you're building recovery time into the itinerary, the spa is set up for it, blending far-eastern techniques with Mediterranean-inspired rituals. It's a strong add-on for couples and for groups that want to keep the non-golfers happy too. The therapists know what they're doing, and the treatments are tailored rather than off-the-shelf, which makes a difference if you're serious about unwinding properly between rounds.

The resort sits close enough to the coastal walkway that you can stroll down to the beach or into the quieter end of Costa Adeje without needing a taxi. It's not a party resort, but you're not isolated either, which strikes a good balance for golfers who want a bit of life in the evenings without the full-on strip atmosphere you get further up the coast.

Tivoli la Caleta is a fantastic hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were great and big. Food was excellent. All the golf courses are nearby. Staff would organise transport to golf courses for you and you only needed to give them a few minutes notice before you wanted to leave. There wasnt a great lot going on near the hotel, but there were a few restaurants and was easy to get a taxi to busier areas within 15 mins. Do you need a hotel of this quality for a golf trip, probably not as it is expensive. But saying that, it was a great place to stay, definitely added to the overall trip and I would certainly stay there again.

It felt like an all inclusive hotel, but wasn’t. The restaurants were very expensive, and the buffet hectic. There were few restaurants in the area, just large hotels.
