Lewes Golf Club sits on top of the chalk cliffs that overlook the town offering gorgeous views of the North Downs from the course.

At 6,078 yards from the back tees the course is not the longest in the area but the undulating small greens and sloping fairways will challenge any golfer especially if the wind gets up.

Located just a 5 minute walk from the train station or a 25 minute drive from Brighton this stunning downland course is open all year for inclusion on any golf tour in East Sussex.

Lewes Golf Course

Having been established in 1896, Lewes Golf Club is often regarded as having some of the very best greens in the region. With an underlying chalk base the course has excellent drainage allowing play throughout the year.

The 15th is regarded by many to be the signature hole on the course, a classic dogleg, 403 yard par 4, containing a narrow drive down a tree-lined fairway that slopes sharply downhill as it approaches the heavily protected green.

Nicely presented course but built on a hill and reached by a fairly narrow service road. A challenging walk depending on your level of fitness but with superb views over Lewes and surrounding countryside.
