Long Beach is a modern, five-star resort on Mauritius's east coast, set on a long, wide sweep of white sand and the Indian Ocean. If you like your golf trips with proper downtime built in, this one's a strong shout: plenty of restaurants, a quality spa for post-round recovery and a bit of nightlife when the group fancies it. The whole place leans into an Italian "la dolce vita" vibe, so expect stylish communal spaces, relaxed service and a resort that's as much about eating well as it is about clocking up rounds.

There are five restaurants in total, with three around the central Square (indoor and terrace seating) and two right on the beach. Menus focus on fresh local produce with Mauritian and Mediterranean influences, so you're not stuck in the same resort-buffet loop all week. The two bars and Bombora nightclub add another layer. Bombora is one of the livelier spots on the island, with resident DJs and occasional guest nights, so if you're the kind of golfer who likes a proper evening after a day on the course, it's there. If you'd rather keep things quiet, the resort gives you plenty of space to do that too.

The spa sits away from the busier parts of the resort, so it holds onto the calm you're looking for. Beyond the spa, Long Beach gives you three outdoor pools, a water sports centre, floodlit tennis, yoga and aqua-gym classes, an air-conditioned gym and even a climbing wall. The resort also runs "Come Alive" Signature Experiences, evening performances that transform the piazza into an open-air gallery of music, art and local talent as the sun goes down.

Good to know for golfers: early tee time tomorrow? You've got plenty on-site for an easy routine: quick breakfast options, space to unwind by the pool afterwards and the Sea Spa for recovery. Île aux Cerfs Golf Club is a common pairing with east-coast resorts like this.

Who is this for?
Golfers and groups seeking a luxury Mauritius golf holiday with access to the island's championship courses, modern five-star accommodation and a full resort experience that balances relaxation with quality dining and nightlife.

Who is it best for?
Couples and groups who want variety beyond the golf course, appreciate quality dining and contemporary design, and prefer a resort that offers both beach-club energy and spa-level calm depending on the day's agenda.

Accommodation at Long Beach Mauritius

Long Beach has 255 ocean-facing rooms with a clean, modern look in apple green, coral red, white and ash grey. In-room kit is what you'd expect from a five-star resort: minibar, electronic safe, hairdryer, independent air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities and a 42-inch TV with international channels, plus complimentary Wi-Fi. Bathrooms include both a bath and shower, with a separate WC.

For golf couples and small groups, it works nicely as a base. You can be up early for a tee time, back for a swim and a lazy lunch, then head into the Square for dinner without ever needing to leave the resort. The room layout and generous beach frontage mean you get the privacy and comfort of a quality hotel room combined with immediate access to the beach and pools, so you can structure your day around early tee times, post-round recovery and evening socialising without feeling cramped or compromised.

The Italian lifestyle concept translates into relaxed, stylish communal spaces, so whether you're planning your next round over breakfast on the terrace or debriefing the day's golf over cocktails at the bar, the setting encourages you to linger and enjoy the experience rather than simply pass through. The variety in dining means you can eat at the resort every night of a week-long stay and never feel like you're repeating yourself, a real advantage when you're focused on golf and would rather avoid the hassle of organising off-site dinners.

The balance between energy and calm is one of the resort's strengths, and it's reflected in everything from the spa's secluded location to the choice between poolside lounging and water sports at the beach centre. For a golf holiday in Mauritius that gives you championship courses, a stunning beach, quality dining and the freedom to set your own pace, Long Beach delivers.

Lovely hotel & we were lucky to be close to the amenities. Some of the rooms needed to get a buggy as they were far from the centre. All the restaurants were good & the food of a high standard even the buffet. Staff were always very positive, welcoming & helpful. Would recommend going All Inclusive as no places close & the restaurants seemed quite expensive.

Have to say somewhat disappointed with the hotel. It’s marketed as 5star but does not come close. More 3 star in our view. Bedrooms are a good size but are dated and tired. Needs updating / upgrading. Buffet restaurant Le Marche has a major problem with birds continually raiding food on counters and tables. Decor in some areas was dirty and, again, in need of refurbishment. Food itself was ok. But nothing special. Tides restaurant and bar. Food good, attentive and friendly service albeit it took almost 45 minutes one afternoon to bring us the wrong snack. Chopsticks was our favourite restaurant. Both food and service were excellent. Sapori was closed for most of our stay. We ate there only once but it was good. We didn’t eat at HAZU. Entertainment on an evening was overall poor. Local musicians were all quite talented but they seemed more interested in entertaining themselves than engaging with their audience. We were all inclusive and are used to having no limitations when it comes to food and drink. Here we were limited to local beers wines and spirits and anything else was charged for. The quality of the drink was ok. May seem somewhat petty but we had a late flight home (picked up from the hotel at 6:30pm) but was told on checking out that our “all inclusive” status only extended to 3pm. Would have thought they could have extended it until we actually left? Second gripe. I had had enough wine one evening and asked for a drink of water. The barman brought me one in a paper cup. Had to insist on a glass which he reluctantly brought eventually. That’s what we mean about not being five star ! It’s the little things. Overall we had a good holiday. But we would not return to this hotel. We feel that it was not value for the money paid when compared to other all inclusive packages.

Everything was perfect but we were slightly upset that our friend's received an upgrade and we did not. WE think it is because they were top of the list and we were not. Having done all the organisation it irked. Perhaps something for the future make sure the organisers are first. Our room and bathroom were one. There was no curtain or door between our bedroom and bathroom which is not the greatest. Our frie4nds had two bathrooms + doors! Otherwise everything was perfect with the hotel.

As first time visitors to this island we were very impressed with the resort. However, due to the impending cyclone, that eventually did not fully impact, there was some confusion and disruption that upset many aspects including dining, golf, transport etc. Otherwise, there was always a need to return to reception if questions were asked and junior staff could not make decisions. This happened on many occasions, particularly with restaurant bookings and incorrect times being made. Japanese restaurant was very poor but all others were very good.
