National Golf Club

The stunning National Golf Club is just a short drive from the vibrant city of Antalya and its many attractions. The course itself is a masterpiece of design, sculpted from the natural landscape and boasting breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. With its lush fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and undulating greens, the National Golf Club is a visual treat that will leave you wanting more.

Being the oldest in the area it has a mature look, with tree lined fairways and carefully placed water hazards, the holes are very well defined. Nearly every hole has a shape to it and the greens are well guarded by carefully placed bunkers and over hanging trees so course management is key to playing well. The greens are large, true and undulating with many exciting pin positions to be had. The positioning of the tee ball on the correct side of the fairway is vital to attacking the flags.

Whether you're traveling with a group of friends, your partner, or even solo, the National Golf Club is the perfect place to indulge in your love of golf while enjoying the beauty and hospitality of Turkey.

National Golf Club

Such is the quality of David Feherty's design, National (6,907 yards) is still regarded as the best course in Belek by many, and has a maturity that belies its youth. Spectacular holes are carved in to the groves of pine and eucalyptus, and there are treacherous water hazards throughout.

National has more of a members club accent than many of the resort courses, and as such is extremely popular. The most established course in Belek, National should be a certainty for a challenging and rewarding round during your next golfing holiday on Turkey's Mediterranean coast.

We caught up with Ladies European Tour player Sophie Walker who finished 6th in the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open in 2014 to talk us through her tips for playing the National Golf Club

"The National is a breathtaking golf course and one of my favourites on tour. It is a very tricky golf course but the variety of tees on offer mean it can be enjoyed by professional and club golfers alike.

My favourite hole on the front 9 is the par 5 4th. It is a short par 5 which values a straight drive in order to go for the green in two. However the whole left side of the hole is protected by a water hazard meaning any stray drive or second shot will be punished. It is very much a birdie or bogie hole for the Ladies on tour.

The best hole on the course for me is the 18th; it says everything there is to say about The National course. The tee shot needs to be precise in order to avoid the fairway bunker and water on the left. The approach shot is very picturesque with the clubhouse at the back of the green.

My tips for playing The National are not to always use a driver off the tee, as accuracy is more important that length. Always take more break than you think on the greens. Try a kebab at the half way house and have a photo taken on the 2nd tee and on the patio with the 18th hole in the background.

It really is a stunning golf course to look at, so enjoy the surroundings and the scores will come."

We were first off the tee in the morning and our group of thirteen players were able to start 2/3/4/4 The front nine fairways had been hollow tined but we were not advised to play preferred lies? The course is being set up for a big comp in May and the green fee should have been reduced to reflect the work in progress. Great layout but far poorer condition than when we played last year.

Another testing course in good condition, however greens were a little patchy but still fast and true. Very good looking set up.

For the tone of year the course was in order good condition. Shame no one repairs their pitch marks or rakes bunkers though

Good test of golf. Good layout. Grass in the rough very sparse, if you hit it a bit fat it’s not going anywhere. They have floodlights for last 4 holes so no problem getting round if its a bit tight with the light.

This course was not as well manicured as The Carya. It also took ages for food and drinks to arrive and the order was incorrect. Would not return to this course.
