The layout of the Ernie Els signature course has a traditional links feel to it, with undulating terrain and veld grasses lining the pristine fairways. There are five par 3s and five par 5s.
Measuring 7,126 yards from the competition tees, the Oubaai Golf Course is certainly long enough to challenge even the best players in the game. However there are also a range of tees to ensure that it is playable and provides an enjoyable experience for all who play it.
The signature hole for the course has got to be the 17th, a hole where the green meets the ocean. Your approach to this hole will need to avoid the four sand-traps, which protect the green, and you’ll also need to wrestle with the ever-changing coastal winds – so watch out because this hole is a tough one.
Accommodation at the Oubaai Hotel Golf & Spa comes in the form of 100 elegant guestrooms and suites, all of which are equipped with state-of-the-art communication & entertainment technology and all boast large bathrooms with glass-enclosed showers and separate baths, making them one of the best places to stay in South Africa.

We stayed in a suite which was very spacious and comfortable. No great outlook, but plenty of room. The staff were very polite and helpful ...to a fault. The pool we did not visit due to the poor weather; an excellent gymn ...which we had intended to visit; the Spa was great, but we were there mainly for the golf and spent most of our time on the golf course. Good breakfast but the Waterside Restaurant (Signature hotel Restaurant) for evening meals was excellent!! Externally, the Hotel looked a little 'tired' and certainly overdue for an upgrade.

A good test of golf but very fair and spectacular views. One of my favourite courses.
Links type layout so different again to other courses we played whilst on holiday. We walked this course but if played again would buggy as was a long way round in the heat. Course in good condition and we would certainly like to play this course again.
