Parkstone was originally laid out by two-time Open Championship winner Willie Park Jnr. opening for play in 1909, the course has undergone some significant changes since then, most notably in 1937 when James Braid revised the layout.

Reg Whitcombe, the 1938 Open Champion, once said of Parkstone 'There is no better place' and many agree with him as it is ranked as the top course in Dorset and among the Top 50 golf courses in England.

The course is laid out on land similar to a links course, sandy but a bit more undulating, in an area of the Luscombe Valley that offers superb views of Poole Harbour and Bay. Parkstone is Dorest golf at its very best and is a perfect addition to a golf tour in the Bournemouth area.
