The Pasha Course at Antalya Golf Club is a firm favourite on Turkey's Belek coast and, in my opinion, it's the ideal first round if you're travelling with a mixed-ability group. Part of the Sirene Belek Golf Hotel complex, this 18-hole layout sits alongside The Sultan, but it asks very different questions.

Designed by European Golf Design and David Jones, The Pasha plays just over 6,300 yards from the championship tees. On paper it's the shorter sibling, but I wouldn't turn up expecting a gentle knock about. The real defence is in the undulating greens, clever bunkering and water that's never far away if you lose one offline.

There are a few proper risk-and-reward moments too. The 11th is the headline act, a driveable par 4 of around 300 yards with water tight down the left and bunkers waiting around the green. Go for it and you could be putting for eagle. Get greedy and you can just as easily be grinding out bogey.

The par 5 13th is another great hole, with water up the right that makes you think twice before taking on the green in two. Add in views of the Taurus Mountains and you might spot the odd tortoise or hoopoe bird during your round.

If you're planning a Belek golf holiday, I'd slot Pasha in early doors, then step up to The Sultan later in the trip.

Who is this for? Mixed-ability groups who want a fun, tactical round that doesn't rely on 280-yard carries.

Who is it best for? Mid to high handicappers, or anyone wanting a confidence-building round before taking on The Sultan.

The Pasha Course at Antalya Golf Club is ranked as one of the best courses in Turkey.

Pasha Course, Antalya GC

The Pasha Course is the second at the Antalya club, and is a more appropriate proposition for the average golfing visitor. While it benefits from the same brilliant views as the Sultan, its full length of 6,267 yards makes it manageable for everyone.

The Pasha course requires smart and patient golf but a bit less accuracy than the Sultan due to wider fairways and more generous landing areas. However, large water hazards and perfectly placed bunkers will make sure you stay fully switched-on throughout the round. The views on this course also add to its already abundant character. The Taurus Mountains can be seen in the distance and the local wildlife add another twist. The par-5 13th is a classic risk/reward hole with water up the right side that really protects the green. This is one of the many highlights of the 18 holes. A course not to be underestimated and a great way to build-up to the Sultan.

The advantage of the long hitters is nullified around the Pasha, whose defence is its tricky dog-legs, sloping greens and strategically positioned bunkers. More of a ‘thinking man’s’ course than its neighbour, the Pasha is the perfect foil for the lengthy Sultan layout, which is why the Antalya Golf Club has something for everyone.

Antalya Golf Club is home to the PGA of Turkey and as you would expect, it has incredible practice facilities to boast of. The state of the art facilities give you everything you need to hone every aspect of your game and even get some expert tuition should you feel you need it. The pro shop is stocked with the best of equipment and merchandise so you can treat yourself on this great golf holiday.

Due to us being the 1st group to play it was pretty quick. When we got back tithe clubhouse there was quite a few groups waiting on the 1st tee .we only saw the refreshments buggy once but in saying that there is plenty of drink stations around the course

First time playing this course and if I played it before all the other courses I would’ve thought it was good, but comparing it to the Faldo, Montgomerie, Sultan, Carya this course was just not as good a quality. Nothing wrong other than not as good as other courses
