My expectations on this course were low as those I know who’d played it before spoke very poorly of it. Our visit started poorly as the bar manager/steward was less than welcoming and seemed happy to berate his staff in front of us.. but the course itself was enjoyable as a whole with 5-6 fantastic holes that would fit onto any links course I’ve played. The par 5’s were particularly strong and the greens were in terrific condition and incredibly quick. The views were amazing from all ends of the course.. The high number of raised greens and blind tee shots became a little tiresome towards the end of the round but I’d happily return here in the future.
The pride of Cornwall, Perranporth is among the finest links courses that the south west has to offer. In addition to the majestic panoramic views of the rugged coastline, Perranporth boasts a fantastic golf course designed by James Braid, whose architectural legacy is visible the length and breadth of the United Kingdom.
