Quay Hotel

If you want a North Wales golf base with a bit more polish, The Quay Hotel & Spa is a smart shout. Right on Deganwy Marina, you'll finish your round with Conwy Castle across the water and plenty of quality golf within easy reach. It's a four-star waterfront stay that works just as well for couples as it does for small groups who want a strong hotel to come back to after 18 holes.

With 80 rooms, a recently refreshed spa and a restaurant that makes the most of Welsh produce, it's compact, well-run and set up for short breaks. The bar also does exactly what you want from a 19th hole, especially when the terrace is open.

Course access is the big win. Conwy Golf Club is close enough to keep travel time down, while Nefyn and Porthmadog make it easy to build a two or three-night itinerary with genuine variety. Base yourself here, play a different style each day, then come back for a proper dinner and a recovery session in the thermal suite.

If you're the organiser, this is the kind of base that keeps the group happy off the course as well, and we can package the hotel and tee times so you're not chasing spreadsheets and deposits all week.

Who is this for?
Golfers who want more than a bed for the night. If your group cares about a good dinner, a proper spa and somewhere decent to sit with a drink after 18 holes, this ticks the right boxes.

Who is it best for?
Couples and small groups looking to combine quality North Wales golf with a waterfront stay that adds something to the trip. It also works well for society organisers who want a venue that handles the non-golf side of things properly, so the group can focus on the golf.

Accommodation at Quay Hotel

With 80 bedrooms across several categories, there's a practical range for different group sizes and budgets. The recent refurbishment of the Hotel and Classic Estuary rooms shows in a smart, comfortable finish, with soft coastal blues and neutral tones suiting the marina setting. All rooms include Egyptian cotton sheets, H²K toiletries, en-suite bathrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service, and tea/coffee facilities, with a solid TV and workspace setup.

Entry-level Cosy Cove rooms overlook the courtyard and suit shorter stays. Classic Estuary rooms add bay windows framing the Conwy Estuary — worth the extra cost for two nights or more. Executive rooms add a private balcony or terrace, ideal for couples or golf groups wanting a more comfortable base.

For a golf break, on-site parking, space for kit and quick check-in all help you make an afternoon tee time. Standard rooms suit a quick two-night trip; suites suit those wanting extra space after a full day on the course. If budget allows, estuary-facing rooms are worth prioritising — the view is a big part of what makes this hotel stand out.

Though Conwy town is a short 8 minutes drive away, there's no need to leave the hotel for dinner. The Ebb and Flow Restaurant looks directly across to Conwy Castle and delivers contemporary Welsh cooking built around local produce — River Conwy mussels, mackerel, and seasonal, locally sourced ingredients — in a room that feels special without being stiff.

The Cove Bar offers a relaxed pace: warm lighting, Welsh gins and local ales, a lighter food menu, and a terrace for summer evenings — a great spot to wind down after a round as the light drops over the estuary.

The recently refurbished spa at The Quay adds real value to a golf trip, especially the thermal suite. It starts with a Himalayan salt-infused wellness room, followed by foot baths, an infrared sauna, a traditional sauna, and a steam room — all helping ease tired legs after a hilly North Wales round. Treatments use British skincare brand OSKIA, tailored to individual needs, with a dedicated post-treatment dining space.

Beyond the thermal suite, the spa includes a gym, hydrotherapy pool, rainshower and fitness classes, with membership available for regular access.

Kanon fint hotell men dåligt tryck på toa! Bestämma tid för frukost, märkligt! Van vid att äta frukost utan förbeställd tid! Aldrig hänt mig tidigare!? Utmärkta sängar och väldigt rent och fint!
