Quinta de Cima unfolds over an impressive 7,200 yards plus layout from the back tees, offering a stimulating journey for golfers of all abilities, though it particularly rewards thoughtful strategy and precise execution. Designed by the acclaimed golf course architect Rocky Roquemore and opened in July 2002, this course has matured into a respected tournament venue.
While the fairways may appear welcoming your strategic thinking will be tested at every turn. A winding creek snakes its way across several holes demanding careful club selection and precise shots to avoid its watery grasp. Thoughtfully positioned bunkers guard the greens and landing areas forcing you to plot your way around the course rather than simply overpowering it. The experience builds to a crescendo with the final three holes a spectacular and challenging stretch of doglegs sand and water that will get your heart racing.

Can't complain about 3hrs 10 mins for a round in the Algarve (we had to ask return taxi to come earlier!). Back nine in partic. felt like a set of long hole after another (so may be why not as many play it?). Essentially it is a good course but it doesn't have the views like QDe Ria. It starts fairly enough but does wear ('beat you up') after the half way, and you need your long game to be on the money to finish 'happy'. NB: large bunkers front and back, and left and right, with softish sand to work with. Playing alongside lines of fragrant orange trees esp. at 14th/15th was a new, good experience. Greens were superb - smooth & pacy without being silly; fairways were the more traditional Algarve grass, bit fluffy on top and stringy underneath (unlike firmer fairways of QDe Ria course).

Course was good but they have been having a big problem with the fairways which were very patchy in places but we played preferred lies so it wasn't a massive problem and with a 50% reduction in green fees it was acceptable

We were given a discount before we arrived as the course is still undergoing maintenance. Again had hoped for better.
