Although the club is one of the oldest and most established in Belgium, its progression has not been without obstacles; the course and its clubhouse were totally destroyed during both world wars. During the 1990s, the course was revised by the highly regarded Martin Hawtree, and the result is that Royal Oostend is playing even better than ever.
This classic links skirts the North Sea coastline, and is more often than not buffeted by see breezes, but the challenge of negotiating the magnificent 6,125 yard links course makes it an essential part of a golf break in Belgium.

We played this course when the wind and rain made life very difficult. Being a links we expected wind but it was wild and wet that day which made a tricky course even more difficult

Very good and much better than expected. Rough quite severe so slowed play up a bit. Course obviously benefitted through plenty of rain over the winter

A true links course made more so this year by the overcast breezy conditions but we wouldn't miss out on this one
