No less than 1 million cubic yards of earth were shifted to construct the amazing course at The Wizard Golf Club, and all the effort certainly was not in vain. Since opening in 1996, the course has become a firm Myrtle Beach favourite thanks to its amazing setting and entertaining layout.
At first glance, the golf course appears to be as much water as land, and there is no doubt that you’ll need to stock up on ammunition before you begin, but the layout is rewarding for golfers of all standards. Enormous elevation changes are characteristic of The Wizard, which was awarded four stars by the respected Golf Digest review.
Like its fellow Mystical Golf courses, The Wizard was conceived by Dan Maples, who has infused memorable holes with charming features such as stone bridges. With fantastic features like the club house, which is modelled on a traditional Scottish castle, The Wizard is truly entertaining, and is well worthwhile including in your golf tour of marvellous Myrtle Beach.
