Abu Dhabi Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Abu Dhabi, consisting of 27 holes the main attraction is the 18 hole 7440 yard National Championship Course which hosts the annual Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on the European Tour.
It was opened for play in 2000 and includes all of the course features typically associated with desert golf. Gently undulating fairways meander their way through pockets of palms, ornamental trees and no less than seven treacherous salt water lakes. The other stunning landmark of the Abu Dhabi Golf Club is the iconic clubhouse overlooking the 18th holes and built in the shape of an falcon.
There is also an excellent 9 hole Garden course which has had lights installed on it. A round of 9 holes of Night Golf is a not-to-be-missed experience.

Abu Dhabi is the perfect place for a sunshine break with a hot desert climate where temperatures can reach up to 30°C. In February, the average temperature is 20°C with sunshine duration of 8 hours day; definitely warm enough getting the shorts out on the fairways. There is only a 16% chance of precipitation over the course of the month, and the most likely chance of rain is around the end of the month. Luckily the tournament will be finished way before the end of the month.
The Abu Dhabi Golf Club is located only 20 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH). Abu Dhabi is one of the most accessible airports in the world with a host of direct flight options available from Eithad or British Airways from London, Manchester, Edinburgh (Approx 7hrs).
