Joining the list of courses to have hosted The Ryder Cup was a new dawn for Welsh golf and the addition of The Twenty Ten Course launched Celtic Manor into the world’s golfing elite. Visit now, and you will be welcome to manicured fairways and lightning fast greens that mark The Twenty Ten as a genuine tournament standard experience.
And the experience is as much part of The Twenty Ten as the course itself; meet and greet service, shoe cleaning and access to the Ryder Cup locker rooms will ensure you have a day to remember. 2020 saw the European Tour return to Celtic Manor and the Twenty Ten course for the Celtic Classic. Sam Horsfield claimed the title of the inaugural event with a final bogey free round of 67, two clear of Thomas Detry. The win was Horsfield's second in the UK Swing series of events having won the Hero Open at the Forest of Arden a few weeks earlier.
The Twenty Ten Course at Celtic Manor is ranked as one of the best courses in Wales
Signature hole - No. 14: Par 4, 413 yards, SI 2
This tricky par 4 sums up the Twenty Ten's lake-lined challenge, with two separate bodies of water to negotiate. Players have to choose between either a bold carry with the tee shot or else the approach. Most opt for an iron off the tee to avoid a watery fate to the left; while those brave enough to fly the lake can leave themselves a short, straightforward pitch.

What an experience! And unexpected one at that! A warm welcome, with a shuttle bus and club transfer. Complimentary range balls and a photographer on the first tee. The course was in excellent condition and even had club clean service at the end of the round. The only thing I would say is that my trolley was super late in being transfered down to the first tee, arrived 1minute before tee time…but no apology and no offer to lend one of there’s until it arrived. Also was unaware a bag tag is included, would be nice if these were provided on first tee, I imagine a lot of people miss out on these as it was only by chance the shop asked as we were leaving. For YGT , no issues with any of the bookings, everything went smoothly, but for an experience like 2010, some of these free extras are a fantastic selling point that I didn’t know about until I was there, perhaps would have been nice to know about pre arrival

Treated so well start to finish, the locker room and the cleaning of the clubs and bag tag was simply the icing on the cake, well done. To play the holes that the pros play and to experience the course was great...it totally defeated us but good to say we have played it

A long and challenging course for the amateur golfer but good fun! Greens were fast with plenty of slopes! Some bunkers under repair but not a problem. Buggies not able to go onto the course though and have to remain on the paths. When you don’t know the course this is an issue as you have to take several clubs to your ball and then traipse back to the buggy. Same for all three courses.
