Situated above the English Channel upon the White cliffs of Dover this James Braid designed gem celebrated its centenary in 2009.
Blessed with a wonderful natural landscape of the Kent coast, panoramic views and tricky sea breezes Walmer & Kingsdown provides a stern test for golfers of all abilities.
Positioned on the side of a ridge on top of the Downs the course remains in terrific condition all year round. At 6471 yards from the back tees it is no monster but the sloping landscape together with the wind will make you think about every shot.
A nice round but not really a links course in my view.
I think this could have been the easier of the courses we played, had it not been for the terrible weather conditions. We played in strong wind and rain for the whole round, which made it very tough. Set up on the cliffs, there are quite a few steep holes, which made it interesting playing into the wind.
Nice course, love to play it again in the future.
