Perched above the Bay of Alcúdia on Mallorca's north-east coast, Club de Golf Alcanada is one of those places that looks special the moment you arrive. Opened in 2003 and designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, it's a modern, polished club set on dramatic coastal land with sea views that follow you round most of the day.
The routing makes the most of the setting without feeling gimmicky. You'll play through pine groves and across rocky ground, with plenty of glimpses of the Mediterranean and the little island of Alcanada with its lighthouse sitting out in the bay. There's elevation in the mix too, so you get some cracking outlooks across the water towards the Tramuntana mountains, especially later in the round.
In playing terms, it's not just a holiday resort knock-about. Alcanada rewards good positioning and a sensible strategy more than sheer power. Fairways are welcoming enough, but the bunkering is placed to catch the lazy line and the greens have enough movement to keep you honest. Add the breeze off the bay, particularly in the afternoons, and club selection can suddenly become the whole story.
Off the course, the clubhouse is smart and easy-going, with a terrace restaurant looking over the 18th and the sea beyond, plus solid practice facilities including a driving range and short-game area.

Alcanada is characterised by the stunning lighthouse which guards over the coastline, and is the emblem for the course. Beautiful trees, indigenous to the landscape, demarcate the most beautiful holes as the undulating turf tracks the seafront, and visiting golfers will do well to keep concentrating on the golf!
Trent Jones Junior's excellent layout is just the complement for the incredible setting, making Alcanada an absolute ‘must play' during your next golf holiday in Mallorca.

Great place with stunning views and a proper golf course. Unfortunately some of the greens were not great and have had a lot of areas relaid. Halfway hut shut by 15.50 with lots of people still on the course and got in at 17.45 to be told we were not allowed in the bar/restaurant as closed for a wedding. Sat by the putting green for an hour awaiting our pick up, not great after a long hot afternoon on the course, though the wedding music was good.

Beautiful surrounds. Disappointing welcoming, you would expect to be greeeted at such a course. Augustin the starter was great, friendly and with advice. Greens very fast!! Would say a must play to experience with the picturesque holes.

Course in good condition, especially fast greens. Bunkers very good as where fairways. The views on back nine excellent over the bay. Buggies very good and green water available.

We last played here in 2016, when the course (back-9) was a bit of a building site. Now, it is imperious and the best course we played on this tour. Tee to green is in immaculate condition, greens are quick and consistent, so good to play on. Service not quite as strong as at Son Muntaner and the outstanding T Club

Fantastic course layout and Clubhouse with some of the best views we’ve had in 23 years of golf trips. Greens unfortunately very slow as they are hosting a large tournament soon so protecting them.
