The rooms available in the hotel are fully furnished and boast a contemporary decor, styled with its natural, traditional charm. With a single, twin or double room to choose from, visitors will find in every room a smart TV, essential toiletries, an iron, hairdryer and of course one of the incredibly comfortable single or double beds. From the moment you walk into the hotel, you will be met by a friendly face, with the members of staff doing their best to provide you with the best possible service, making your stay as smooth as possible.
The Redwood Restaurant is the main dining option at Invercarse Hotel, with a delicious, varied menu served while guests overlook the beautiful River Tay. The restaurant prides itself on quality and only uses local produce when creating the dishes, despite the menu frequently changing.
The conference facilities at the hotel are extensive with the three function rooms, the largest being the Ballroom. The hotel has hosted weddings, parties and events for over 40 years and the incredible space is perfect for such occasions with natural light shining through the bay windows, a large floor space and easy access to the hotel’s large car park.
Rooms look out over either the River Tay or the Botanic Gardens, which gives the place a genuine sense of setting. Décor is traditional in style but the overall feel is comfortable and straightforward, the sort of hotel that suits golfers who prioritise a good night's sleep and an easy routine over flashy extras.
The Redwood Restaurant leans into locally sourced, seasonal Scottish produce. Menus change through the year and the dining room is bright, with large windows that make the most of the riverside views. It's a good fit for golf trips because it's quality without the fuss, you can eat well and still be out the door quickly in the morning. Expect locally sourced meat, fish and vegetables prepared without unnecessary theatre, the kind of cooking that works after a long day on the course.
After your round, the bar area is the natural meeting point for groups. Whether you're after a glass of wine, a cocktail or a malt, it's a relaxed space for a proper debrief. The whisky selection is strong, and the staff are happy to talk you through it if you're in the mood to explore. The atmosphere is unpretentious enough that you can turn up in your golf gear without feeling out of place.
Facilities are more traditional hotel than resort. The big practical win is parking, particularly for groups travelling with multiple cars. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, and the lounge areas are comfortable without being overly formal. This is a hotel that does the basics very well and doesn't try to be something it's not.
The Invercarse suits golfers who want a quiet, comfortable base with good food and easy access to a cluster of excellent courses. It's not a resort, it's not trying to be flashy, and it won't overwhelm you with facilities you don't need. What it does offer is a well-run, traditional Scottish hotel in a genuinely pleasant setting, with the kind of location that lets you play a different top-class course every day without spending half your trip in the car. If you're the type who likes ticking off as many quality courses as possible in a long weekend, this location makes life easy.

Hotel too far from Saturday courses and for a large group no reserved spacing. Staff were super flexible to make it work as best they could but felt organisation and planning not up to standard. Also paid for meal and to use a £22 limit was not great - should be clearer what is included up front

We found the hotel perfect for us. The view across the Tay is spectacular and as we were driving to Carnoustie each day there were plenty of available parking spaces. The food was great, especially the buffet breakfast. The staff were very helpful especially the receptionist who on our arrival sorted the issue of our names not being on the reservation.

The views from the dining room were fantastic.the location was slightly too far from the golf courses that we played.the food was excellent and very reasonably priced as was the drinks bill! We requested double beds but the beds were made up as twins and put together so that there was a gap between.the staff were excellent and very friendly.
