Corballis Links Golf Club is just 20 minutes north of Dublin and offers one of the most accessible ways to get a genuine links round in the capital's backyard. Designed by Ron Kirby, it's compact on the card but asks all the right links questions, especially when the wind gets up off the Irish Sea.
The course weaves through natural dune ground with tight driving lines, smartly placed bunkers and firm, fast turf that makes the ball run. You won't necessarily need driver on every tee, but you will need a plan. Pick the right side of the fairway, flight it down when it's breezy and take your chances when you've got a good wedge in hand. The greens have subtle movement too, so a below-the-hole leave is worth chasing.
It's a quick, walkable round that suits an arrival or departure day perfectly, and the pace of play is usually good. Despite its modest yardage, plenty of golfers still rate it among their Top 10 courses around Dublin because it's a genuine test, great value and easy to fit into a trip. It also pairs brilliantly with its neighbour The Island Golf Club for a standout 36-hole day, two different flavours of links golf within minutes of each other. The two courses sit side by side, so you can play both without moving your car, making it one of the smartest double-headers on the East coast.
Who is this for?
Golfers building a Dublin or East coast itinerary who want a genuine links experience without the fuss, plus groups looking for a great-value extra round alongside The Island.
Who is it best for?
Players who enjoy strategic golf, mid to high handicappers who want a fair links test and anyone after a quick, walkable round that still feels unmistakably seaside.

The course underwent its first phase of redesign in 2007 which resulted in the complete removal of the 4th hole and extensive renovation of the 13th, 14th and 15th holes. In 2009, the new holes were introduced, running parallel to the coastline and adding to the challenges the course has to offer.
From the back tees, the course plays at just 4,624 yards, making it one of the shortest 18 hole courses in the country; par at Corballis Golf Links is 66. The length of the course may play into the hands of big hitters, but the course only features one par 5 and 7 par 3s, meaning accuracy is definitely more important.

A really wonderful experience. We were lucky to have nice weather but a lot of wind some of the most fun and trickiest par 3s we have ever played.

Professional and ground staff were great and members were friendly!!! After seeing great reviews my party were disappointed with the poor fairways, although this may have been to the weather the previous day!!! Greens had just been sanded the day we played (a job that has to be done) we were just unfortunate it was the day we played!!! Views were amazing!!!!

Hard to know where to hit the ball. Mostly blind shots. But amazing scenery and truly a challenge

Not a real golf course. Last 4 holes are dangerous - 2 fairways crossing each other...

This was a poor recommendation from Golf Travel. Booked 9 buggies as we are nearly all of retirement age. Got to the course they only had 2 Buggies and not enough trolleys. Some of the golfers had to carry their clubs, this is not good when you over 65 years .old. This is a council run course very poor changing facilities and no BAR for refreshments. Our last group in could not change their shoes after their game as the clubhouse closed at 5.30!, They had to book a taxi back next day to get them. I would never recommend this course for anyone!!
