Font del Llop is a cracking inland option in Alicante Province and a great shout if you're building a Costa Blanca golf tour. Set in rolling valleys with views to the surrounding mountains, it's a course that asks you to think from the tee, then really earn it on the approaches.
Fairways are generally generous, but positioning matters. Strategic bunkering and the occasional water hazard put a premium on picking the right line, while elevated greens and firmer surfaces make distance control key. When the wind gets up on the more exposed holes it can quickly turn a good score into a proper battle, so bring your course management head as well as your driver.
The par 3s are a highlight, with a nice mix of lengths that keeps club selection interesting. There are birdie looks out there too, particularly if you can find the correct angles into the longer par 4s and the more tempting par 5s. Miss in the wrong spot though and your short game will be busy.
It's a strong pick for societies and groups looking for quality golf in the area, often representing better value than some of the bigger-name options nearby. You can walk it, but given the undulations a buggy is a popular call. Practice facilities include a range and short game area, ideal for a proper warm-up before you tee it up.

Measuring just over 6,900 yards from the tips and with a par of 72, this intriguing layout is long enough to challenge the lower handicapped golfer while four other sets of tees make it more than manageable for golfer of all abilities.
Located in the foothills of a beautiful valley, the courses main feature and defence is the sweeping undulations that demand sound club selection when approaching the greens. A small river interconnects five separate lakes meaning water is a constant threat to a good score while strategically placed bunkers also add to the challenge. Play this course sensibly and you will no doubt have bags of fun in the Spanish sun.
Font Del Llop is ranked as one of the best courses in Costa Blanca

First time playing this course and it was disappointing. The greens where not good at all, but the biggest disappointment was the slow play over 5 hours for 18 holes with no one trying to do anything about it.

This is one of our favorite courses, very hot when we visited 38c, so the gentle breeze in the mountains was very welcome, some quite challenging holes with a few nasty surprises, if you dont know the course you need to really understand the lay out as you can easily be caught out from some tee shots....lost balls.

The kitchen closed at 4pm so there was no opportunity to have a meal after the round. If we had known this at the time of booking, we would have had a chance to make other arrangements. The kitchen at Alenda Golf also closed earlier than we expected.
