You walked into history as soon as you entered the magnificent clubhouse, very friendly staff. The course is a gem. A proper links test of golf. Unfortunately they greens had had winter maintenance on them so putting wasn’t easy with the greens having holes all over them. This did not stop the enjoyment and a great day.
Gailes Links was designed by Open winner Willie Park Jnr in 1912 and is a classic links course with undulating fairways, beautifully crafted greens, all set against spectacular Scottish West coast scenery.
The R&A used Gailes Links as Scotland’s only final Open qualifying course up until 2017.
