Playing at a long 6602 yards off the yellow tees, the course might favour the big hitters but it will be wasted if you can't keep the ball straight. Hole 9 is the perfect example of how you'll need to factor in many parts of your game to be successful; a 534 yards par 5 has out of bounds to the left, a sloped fairway and a green protected by trees and water - a true test for golfers of all abilities.
The extremely narrow fairways will keep players thinking about their next shot and some savvy course management will help get some low scores. This is quite typical across the 18 holes, although the fairways do open up occasionally; four holes feature doglegs where you'll have another obstacle to overcome.
Without an official signature hole, there are certainly a few stand out. Hole 12 is a thought-provoking par with the opportunity to reach the green in two due to the undulating fairway, but be conscious that the green is protected by trees on both side and a small lake just before. Other than the copious hazards, this hole also boasts some fantastic views of the mountains to the right, sure to impress some of golf's most travelled.
The many challenges, picturesque landscapes and strategic course design, especially with the water hazards, make this course very special. While a test for even low handicappers, the course will keep you concentrating and a low score will feel well deserved.

The practice facilities at Altorreal golf club are a great addition for those looking to perfect their game before they head out to the course. A modern driving range is available where you can book golf lessons and swing analysis for both children and adults at reasonable prices with the option to be taught in groups up to 4.
Clubhouse and other facilities:
After a long round, you'll want to sit down and enjoy a cold drink and at the modern clubhouse you can do just that. Beautiful terraces have incredible views over the course and the valley of Molina de Segura. The clubhouse also has its own fitness centre for some training and physiotherapy to get rid of any aches and pains so you can swing freely. Of course, there is also a restaurant that offers a la carte dining on the terrace, serving a wide range of tapas and other traditional Spanish cuisines.

The course is aptly located just a short distance from the provincial capital of Murcia and just a 45 minute drive to the Murcia International Airport.
