Golf Barrière Deauville is a 27-hole complex on France's northwest coast, around two hours from Paris and comfortably doable from the Channel ports for a long weekend. You're playing in Normandy, so expect green countryside, gentle rises and that 'proper France' feel without trekking all the way south.

For UK groups and couples it's a handy base: roughly three hours from Calais and about an hour and 40 minutes from Dieppe. Off the course, Deauville and neighbouring Trouville give you plenty of options for food, a stroll along the seafront and an easy post-round drink, which is exactly what you want on a short break.

The big draw is variety. With 27 holes you can change the routing during your stay, so it doesn't feel like you're playing the same track on repeat. If you like a trip that mixes serious golf with a bit of French coastal atmosphere, Deauville ticks a lot of boxes.

Who is this for?
A group or couple who wants a straightforward Channel crossing, a proper French setting and a course you'll enjoy more the second time round.

Who is it best for?
Mid-handicappers, societies and mixed-ability groups who like parkland golf, want 27 holes for variety and want Deauville's food and coastal vibe within easy reach.

Golf Courses at Golf Barriere De Deauville

The outstanding Golf Barrière Deauville is located on site at this comprehensive holiday destination - visitors will enjoy 27 holes at what is undoubtedly one of France's finest courses.

Diane Barrière Course

The 18-hole championship course is the most recognised golfing symbol of Golf Barrière Deauville, built in 1929 by Tom Simpson.

With views over the stunning Normandy coastline and the Vallée du Pays d'Auge, Simpson's creation is famed not only for its spectacular setting, but also for its lightning fast putting surfaces. At 5,958 yards, it is certainly not particularly by modern standards, but considerable guile and deft touch are required to conquer this superb championship track.

Lucien Barrière Course

The legendary Sir Henry Cotton added to the existing 9 holes with the Lucien Barrière Course, which may not be a full round, but is certainly a fascinating and challenging proposition. Winding through the classic Norman countryside, Cotton's creation adds much to the diversity and choice on offer at Golf Barrière Deauville, and is well worth playing during your next golf holiday in the popular coastal region.

Pleasant course to play. A few greens had been damaged by protesters, but the course had repaired them well. Would play again.

Semi-rough not too punishing, nice and open for weary swings, and a course marshalled 4-balls to call us through

This is a well looked after course and provides a moderate challenge. Staying at the hotel we could see just how much care and attention the green staff gave it and it was extremely convenient for us to just play and then relax. The Ladies French Open will be held here 28 Sept 2023 too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two rounds of golf. We were hardly held up at all and the views were beautiful. Felt a little like millionaire’s golf!

Great course, we played it during the summer drought so fairways were a but crisp but the greens were excellent.
