The Killeen Course is the most established at Killarney, and is a proven tournament host, having welcomed the ladies for the Curtis Cup in 1996, and also the European Tour professionals for the Irish Open in 2010 and 2011. Ross Fisher held of a star-studded line up in 2010 to take the victory, with fellow Englishman Simon Dyson taking the honors in 2011.
This gives an insight into the difficulty of the course, especially in bad weather. Holes like the tough 13th, known locally as the ‘Tiger Hole', have benefited from recent changes to add length, more water hazards and faster, redesigned greens, as part of a strategy to make this beautiful track even more challenging.

Mahony's Point may be the shortest of Killarney's offerings, but it features some of the most entertaining holes around. The highlight of this experience is the closing stretch, not least the famous final hole, a 200-yard par-3 which demands a monstrous carry over the blue water of Killarney's lakes.
