3 Nights, 2 Rounds
Home to two of the best golf courses in the Algarve, NAU Morgado Golf & Country Club puts you right on top of a cracking 36-hole complex that hosted the European Tour's Open de Portugal in 2017. Morgado is the headline act here, a proper championship test that will challenge anyone serious about their golf. Álamos offers a gentler alternative without sacrificing quality, and if you fancy a change of scenery, Salgados is an easy drive away for a coastal day with plenty of wildlife around the lagoons.
The Morgado Golf Hotel sits at the heart of this fabulous golf estate, positioned between Portimão and Monchique with luxury accommodation waiting when you come off the course. You're well placed here, close enough to the beach and nearby towns for a change of scene, yet far enough into the countryside to feel like a golf-first base. The resort's two courses, Morgado Golf and Álamos Golf, are both walkable from the hotel, making this one of those rare places where you can genuinely roll out of bed and onto the first tee.
Who is this for?
Groups who want a straightforward Algarve golf break with on-site courses, quick transfers to the coast and easy taxi runs into town for dinner or a few drinks.
Who is it best for?
Players who enjoy a sterner championship test at Morgado but want an easier second option at Álamos for the 'day after' round, plus the option to add Salgados when you fancy sea air and a change of pace.

There are two phenomenal golf courses on-site here and neither will disappoint. An added attraction is the Algarve's largest golf academy is on-site with a large range and indoor studios, enabling you to improve your game while you are staying here .
This is a relatively mature feeling course thanks to the great many olive trees around the course, and that has added to the aesthetic beauty of the natural surroundings, which are dominated by the imposing Monchique mountains. Golfers of all abilities will love Morgado do Reguengo as it has been built with multiple tees; although it measures a mighty 7,300 yards from the tips.
This 6,600 yard course is relatively open from the tee, but its large greens are extremely tricky. The enormous putting surfaces are noted for their severe slopes, and are guarded by treacherous bunkers.
The raised greens play havoc with club selection, while Alamos is also punctuated with a number of hazardous water features; in fact, the course is formulated around three large lakes, which provide both excitement and aesthetic beauty. Alamos has received much praise in its short time on the Algarve, and is a real pleasure to enjoy during a holiday in this golfing paradise.
Just looking out the window when you wake up will get you in the mood for the day's golf ahead. Surrounded by two golf courses, Morgado Golf and Álamos Golf, the Morgado Golf Hotel is built by golfers, for golfers, and no detail has been overlooked.
You're only a wedge shot from the clubhouse, so getting out for an early tee time is painless. Back at the hotel you've got two restaurants and two bars, plus two freshwater pools for a lazy post-round afternoon. Rooms are modern and spacious, all air-conditioned, with a balcony looking out over the fairways. If you've got a golf-view balcony, it's a lovely spot for a quiet coffee before you head out.
Rooms are well appointed with daily maid service, direct dial telephones, minibar, satellite television and hairdryer as standard. The balconies are a real bonus, particularly if you're the type who likes to watch the early morning groups tee off while planning your own round over breakfast.
The hotel's two restaurants cater to different moods, from casual poolside dining to more formal evening meals, with menus that lean on fresh, local ingredients. The bars are well stocked and provide a comfortable spot to dissect the day's round with your playing partners, whether that's over a cold beer by the pool or something stronger in the clubhouse.
Tennis courts are available for anyone looking to mix things up, and the pools are ideal for a post-round reset when the afternoon sun is at its peak. The whole setup is geared towards golfers who want everything on-site, with minimal fuss and maximum convenience.
Located between Portimão's beaches and Monchique's mountains, the resort strikes a nice balance between golf-focused seclusion and easy access to the wider region. The setting is peaceful, with rolling fairways and mature landscaping creating a relaxed atmosphere, but you're never far from civilisation. For those wanting to experience some nightlife after dinner, Monchique, Portimão and Alvor are all a short taxi ride away, offering restaurants, bars and a taste of authentic Algarve life beyond the resort gates.

As a destination goes you can do a lot worse. The rooms are excellent, close to the courses and a decent bar area of a little small and quiet. The hotel itself is just too out the way, be prepared to spend a lot of money on Ubers if you want to go out and about because apart from golf there isn’t much to do at the hotel except sit by the small pool. Staff were friendly enough and were patient with a couple of individuals in my group who weren’t saints.

Large room kept clean daily. Restricted view though. Small fridge in room ok, no replacement coffee pods/ tea. Buffet breakfast covers most tastes, and only serves buffet dinner for 35€. ( didn’t bother) Clubhouse ok also expensive for food. 18€ for club sandwich, needs small bites to go with a beer after golf (tapas). But still had a good time.

The rooms were really nice, most with lovely balcony views of the course. They were spacious with very nice shower and bathrooms. The staff were very helpful in everything both in the clubhouse and at reception. Swimming pool was nice. Practice facilities on site were excellent- driving range, chipping area and putting green. The food was perhaps not quite as good as everything else. Good food but 3 Star ‘golf club’ food in both restaurants. Everything else was 4 * 👍.

Great stay and facilities.the only downside was that we paid for an all inclusive and it is really a bed, breakfast and evening meal with drinks included from 5 pm onwards.it didn't ruin the stay but we hadn't budgeted for buying water, lunch and an occasional drink

Situated right on golf courses but nothing else there. €20 euro taxi ride to anywhere. No atmosphere in bar . Food was ok but never hot and on 2 nights a limited choice of 2 starters 2 mains and 2 deserts. Breakfast was good. Room smelt of stale water . No coffee supplied just tea and no milk. Paid extra for a premier room so I’m not sure what a basic room would be like. Would rate room as a 3 star as I have done the hotel itself

Very pleasant golfing experience on this course. Wider fairways and much fairer greens meant scoring well was a possibility on this course. It was away from the actual golf that we felt let down. The bins on the course were all overflowing and unsightly. The service at the club was, without doubt the slowest and worst l have ever experienced at a golf club. Prior to first round had to jump long bar queue to get water, after golf, stood in grumpy queue for 40 minutes to get a beer, one girl on her own, near in tears, while a manager just watched. This poor service was consistent on all three visits.
