A beautiful location with a modern clubhouse. The course is flat with lots of pine trees and water on most holes. The fairways and greens were immaculate. Our tee time was delayed due to overbooking and the pace of play once we did get underway was glacial. We ended up abandoning our round after 9 holes (nearly 3 hours) once it became clear we would not be able to finish before it got dark. My request for a refund fell on deaf ears.
Experience breathtaking natural vistas as you take on the ultimate test of golfing prowess at one of Portugal's most demanding courses. Situated in close proximity to Salgados Beach and the Salgados Lagoon Nature Reserve, the Salgados Golf Course boasts an awe-inspiring natural setting, offering panoramic views of the Algarve coastline.
Renowned for its technical complexity, this 18-hole, par-72 course boasts relatively flat greens, but is characterized by numerous water features and lagoons, providing a truly unique challenge for golfers of all skill levels.
The layout was originally conceived by Pedro de Vasconcelos, but has since been the subject of revision work, most notably by the Scotsman, Robert Muir Graves. The course has been sympathetically built into a protected wildlife area, where many rare bird species make their home. Salgados has a tremendous variety of holes, ensuring that it is an intriguing test for golfers of all abilities. Easily accessed from Albufeira, Vilamoura or the Western Algarve, Salgados can fit into just about any holiday itinerary for a golf holiday along the famous coastline.
