An iconic golf course that you have to play if you come to St. Andrews. Once and done sort of deal. Course is challenging, good condition, tough bunkers, pretty views and lovely clubhouse. Expensive but it is St. Andrews. To be expected.
Bordering the Old, The New Course is regarded by many as the best on the links, with some of the most famous holes in world golf.
After a gentle start, the New has many difficult driving holes, bordered tightly by huge banks of yellow-flowering gorse. Played into the teeth of a strong wind, the par-4 sixth is one of the toughest in St Andrews, while the par-3 ninth which skirts the Eden Estuary is a beast, often requiring a solid 3-wood.
