The championship seaside links is visually stunning, and tremendously exciting to play thanks to the great variety of holes that the natural landscape provides. The front nine has a distinct parkland accent, as it runs in and out of the pine trees, whilst the back nine is home to some of the best links golf in mainland Europe. The signature holes - 13, 14 and 15 - run along the Atlantic coastline, providing fantastic views of the sea, dunes and back towards the pine forest.
Course architect Cabell Robinson has designed Praia D'El Rey to be the complete golfing challenge, with bold, deep bunkers, undulating greens, and natural rugged sand border areas which contrast sharply with the lush green fairways. The course was recently rated the 7th best in Europe by Golf World magazine, while the International Association of Golf Tour Operators voted Praia D'El Rey the best on the continent.
There is also a Golf Academy on site, with 24 individual driving range bays. The main putting green is one of the biggest in Europe (900m2) and there is a fairway practice bunker adjacent to driving-range bays, all specifically designed to allow you to hone your skills.
Golf Magazine recently rated Praia D'El Rey as the 13th best golf course in continental Europe and it is certainly one of the best courses in Lisbon.

The villas were large and well appointed. The shuttles to and from the clubhouse were generally on time and easy to call for. The clubhouse itself was comfortable, the staff were very friendly and the menu was excellent.

The accommodation was great, spacious and clean 2 bed apartment. End of October is clearly end of season; quiet and semi-closed feel about it. The Clubhouse bar is way over priced and played the same slow jazz music each night, leading to a lack of atmosphere. Wouldn't take much to improve it. General facilities excellent and access to the Marriott spa for 20 euro was welcome.

Very disappointing resort. Accommodation tired, facilities limited. Access to indoor swimming pool cost €40, gym€20. Limited eateries some of which weren’t open as was supermarket for 2 days after we arrived. A hire car would have been beneficial.

The apartment was clean and spacious, though fairly dated. Housekeeping was inconsistent. What is the point of supplying two coffee pod machines if you don’t supply/replace the pods ?

The food was the biggest disappointment, the breakfast was not great - powdered eggs and greasy meat. It was more focused on quantity rather than quality. Clubhouse menu was ok, not very authentic and felt like fastish food. The rest of the stay was good.

We stayed in beach apartments which were very spacious, comfortable and well kitted out. The facility for shuttle buses on the resort was very helpful and efficient. Breakfast at the Mare restaurant was very good with plenty of choice. Reception staff were friendly and helpful in suggesting restaurants and ordering taxis etc. All in all excellent experience.

We had an amazing time at this Marriott resort, staff and food were exceptionally good, shuttles were always on time and golf was difficult but fun. Only disappointing thing was we were refused access to the main resort pool (Marriott hotel) unless we paid 40 euros each despite being in the resort apartments.

Really clean and well kept estate and the apartments are large and comfortable. The resort is massive and perhaps a little isolated, as such you are restricted in options. This is fine if only there for a short period but menus tend to get a little repetitive if there for longer. It seemed expensive but then again everywhere is these days and I guess it is probably on par with other similar resorts. The shuttle service works really well in getting you from one part of the estate to annother and the staff are very friendly.

Lucky to play as the torrential rain stopped in the afternoon. Only ones on the course almost. Course was great considering the weather.

Lovely course. A bit wet underfoot due to the time of year. Had a great first round, second round not so good as paired with 2 people who had barely played golf so very slow and frustrating.

A testing but fair challenge for any class of golfer. Very well maintained tees fairways bunkers and greens with spectacular views of the ocean. Ironically we were told off for playing the first half too quick as the 10th tee starters were still going out!
