Royal Cromer Golf Club

The layout, originally designed by Tom Morris in 1888 was founded by the Prince of Wales who later became King Edward VII. The course has had many improvements from the likes of James Braid, JH Taylor and most recently Frank Pennick into the fantastic layout it now is. The 6,528 yards are played out amongst undulating, gorse-decorated sandy hills entwined with grassy valleys.

The course comes live around the turn with a strong stretch of holes from the 6th. The signature 14th hole starts a tough closing run and has a fully working lighthouse off the side of the green. Considered to be one of Norfolk’s finest golf courses, Royal Cromer is renowned for its friendly atmosphere and extends a warm welcome to all visitors making it an ideal stop on a golf tour along the rugged Norfolk coastline.

Course very busy and no buggy available despite trying to pre-book. A few quirky holes but definitely challenging. We preferred Sheringham. Friendly staff in both Pro shop and clubhouse.

Absolutely stunning course, a good test for all handicaps, wide open fairways with pot bunkers everywhere not just greenside it made for a challenging but very enjoyable round of golf for myself & my group whose handicaps ranged from 7 to 29!

What a course. Incredible views as well as good quality course. We played on a windless day - but suspect it would be much harder if the wind was blowing.

One of the best course we have played beautiful, I’ve said the course was hard because if you’re not straight you have a lot of fun, clubhouse are really friendly and it was a great day.

A fantastic links course with some spectacular views and scenery. The course was in great condition and is a great test of all abilities as it's fair, but no pushover.

The course was in reasonable condition.they were doing some course work whilst play was ongoing.still in very nice condition though.the greens were better than the fairways.as I said before considering the time of year and weather conditions once again very playable.it was a shame the new course guides weren’t available as the course was played in a different manner.1-5then 10-11-12 then 6-9 then 13-18.it sounds awkward but they were together so not too difficult.excellent view of the Cromer lighthouse at the 14th the lighthouse hole.very aptly named.
