We're thrilled to have 2011 Open Champion & 2022 Senior Open Champion Darren Clarke as our Ambassador, bringing Your Golf Travel customers, the very best golf holidays and deals at fantastic destinations across the globe.
Darren Clarke has been a stalwart on the European Tour since 1991 and, thanks in large part to his considerable achievements, has become one of the most recognisable faces in the game of golf.
No stranger to firsts, Darren was the first player on The European Tour to fire a round of 60 on more than one occasion; the first three time winner of the English Open; and the first player (outside a certain Tiger Woods) to become a multiple World Golf Championship winner.
The former Ryder Cup captain will become the face of Your Golf Travel and Premier Golf’s Open Championship tournament packages, and will be heavily involved in a range of exciting hospitality and meet-and-greet experiences at events throughout the year.

❝Royal Portrush is a very, very special place and undeniably one of the best golf courses in the world. For anyone looking to sample pure links golf at its finest, there aren't many courses that can rival the Dunluce Links.
It's not just the course though. I'll never tire of the warm welcome in the clubhouse, the views and the surrounding area is lovely too, with the Bushmills Inn being a great spot for an evening meal and a well deserved drink or two!❞

❝The old Dunhill Cup was such a fun format, getting to play with great friends and representing Ireland, especially around the Old Course.
Playing here in an Open Championship is a very special experience, with history at almost turn it is easy to enjoy playing here. My best result in an Open Championship at St Andrews was a tie for 7th behind a runaway winner, Tiger Woods.❞

❝Obviously winning the Open instantly made Royal St George's a really special place for me. That's the biggest individual achievement of my career and one I will never forget.
The course is a cracker which more often than not gets the better of you but it's really fun trying to tame it and links lovers will be right at home. With Royal Cinque Ports and Princes also on the same patch of land, this is a great area of the country for golf.❞

❝The K Club is very special to me. I had enjoyed some success there having won the European Open in 2001 but obviously the 2006 Ryder Cup was a very emotional experience and one I will never forget.
The crowds were amazing with me that week and I was just happy that I could play some good golf on what is a really testing course. The celebrations after we won were great fun as well...thankfully the K Club had enough Guinness to go around!❞

❝The first of my three English Open wins came at Hanbury Manor. For me, it's one of the best all round resorts where you can play a proper championship course. I managed four rounds in the sixties but was pushed all the way and my -20 total was only good enough for a 2 shot victory.
The course has some well designed par-5's and these are certainly the key to scoring well round here, it is a driver's course with plenty of length off the back tees.❞

❝Marriott venues seem to bring out the best in me! I won two more English Opens at Forest of Arden, the first was in 2000 where a closing 65 saw me claim a 1-shot victory over Michael Campbell and contributed to a 2nd in the Order of Merit (I lost out to Lee that year!).
My win in 2002 was a little more straight forward with an opening 65 setting up a 3-shot victory over Soren Hansen. It is a top class course with an unusual and testing par-3 to finish up.❞

❝My first Ryder Cup was at Valderrama in 1997 and I feel very fortunate to have played the greatest event in the world at such an esteemed golf club. Seve was captain that week and was like a man possessed so it was great to win it for him in his home country.
I didn't get to play as much as I'd have liked that year but have played Valderrama plenty of times since and I love it. It's an amazing golf course and a must play for any keen golfer.❞

❝The course at the Gary Player Country Club will be familiar with lots of golfers as it hosts the European Tour each year. I think this course is ranked as the best in South Africa and it's certainly one golfers visiting the country should come and play.
Hitting the fairways is really important as the kikuyu rough can be really punishing. You can easily get a flyer from it and getting up and down around the greens here isn't always a walk in the park!❞

❝I didn't really expect to win at Pula but golf can be funny like that sometimes and I was really pleased to get the win. It was my first in a few years and a bit of a monkey off my back if you like.
It also started a run of form that would eventually lead me to winning the Open so I obviously have good memories of the place. I know Jose Maria Olazabal's was heavily involved in the course's redesign a few years back and now it's a really lovely track.❞
