Gullane is a great place to play golf in March. A busy and bustling club with golf everywhere which made for an exciting day for a group of golf enthusiasts. A nice welcome from the Pro Shop, courtesy practice balls (nice touch) and starters hut to welcome the group. Having played No.1 before, I was expecting a similarly tough test, however what was nice with No.2 was a more gentle and playable course for a group with varying ability. The back 9 especially has some wonderful views across East Lothian. A fully stocked pro shop across the road with all the memorabilia you might need to saver an enjoyable day. Finished off with a delicious lunch in the clubhouse.
Opened in 1898 and designed by Willie Park Jnr., Gullane No.2 is the perfect complement to its famous neighbour, Gullane No.1. Set on the same stretch of world-class links turf that has hosted golf since the 1600s, No.2 offers a slightly shorter but equally captivating challenge.
Perched at the western edge of Gullane village in East Lothian—just 45 minutes from Edinburgh Airport—the course unfolds across rolling fairways with sweeping views towards Edinburgh, the Firth of Forth, and the distant hills of Fife. With firm, true links conditions playable year-round, Gullane No.2 delivers the classic Scottish golf experience in a truly unforgettable setting.
