Headfort Golf Club, in the heart of County Meath, is a gem of a club which boasts two highly celebrated parkland courses. These championship layouts, the New and Old, are often added to Dublin golf tour packages, and although the journey from the city centre is upwards of 30 minutes, it is well worthwhile.

0800 043 6644Established in 1928, Headfort is best known for what is now known as the Old Course, a fantastic championship parkland test that makes full use of the fantastic local terrain. In 2000, the club took advantage of an opportunity to purchase a neighbouring parcel of land, and this move began the process of Headfort's second course.
Irish golfing legend Christy O'Connor Junior was the man gifted the responsibility of creating the new layout, and the result is magnificent; known already for its fantastic short holes, the New Course at Headfort is a joy to behold.
Tough course but very fair. Greens were quick and hard to read. Pro shop staff were very helpful and accommodating.
Great round even in heavy rain the greens were beautiful
Headfort Golf club is a great facility with 2 very good courses which were presented in beautiful condition, the Pro shop staff are very friendly with a bit of banter which makes you feel at ease before you Tee off, I would recommend this place for a golfing trip.
Very nice woodlands course, would definitely play it again
Amazing course, very challenging with a lot of water around. Excellent
Beautiful course. Much more forgiving than the new course. Very enjoyable round
Difficult course with lots of water. It is a great experience. Unfortunately, our round was in the rain. Can't wait to play it again in the sun
Another cracker of a parkland course. Took buggies today another enjoyable round and would definitely return.
Beautiful course, very scenic, perhaps taking a buggy would have been an option. Loved this course, would definitely play again.
Typical parkland course with fairways tree lined on both sides. Fairways in good order, course directions to tee boxes very helpful. Pleasant days golf
Course in good order. Greens had been sanded in the recent past, but still true and fairly quick. Plenty of water all around the course. Older member of our group struggled to carry some ponds on front of the tee boxes.
A much easier walk than the New, with most tees within close yards of the previous greens. However since it had just had its winter maintenance it was not in as good condition as its younger, bigger brother. As you would expect on such a tree lined course in Autumn, we had masses of leaves leading to long ball searches when we veered off the fairway, but it would be churlish to complain about that. I'd love to come back and play it at its best, as i'm sure that would be very good indeed.
What a magnificent golf course! Fairly long walk, particularly on some holes where there is significant distance from the previous green to the tee. Not a problem as such, as it gives you time to appreciate the magnificent surroundings and overall condition of the place. I've seen top courses not in this good condition in mid-July let alone mid-October. Greens in simply brilliant nick, fairways firm-ish, general condition magnificent - a must play.
Greens were getting work done to them, once they are repaired it should definitely improve the experience. Little bit of confusion in finding next tee box, improved signage could help
Very pleasant round, beautiful surroundings, excellent course.
Greens were awful. Couldn’t believe we were in same club!
Fantastic scenery. Great condition. Maybe overuse of water? Would come back
Tough course, play was very slow which didn’t help the overall experience
Course was just about right for our level of golfers. Back tees look to be a challenge.
The course was let down a little bit due to inconsistent green speeds, was not help with damaged cause by crows. The rest of the course made up for this by being well presented.
