Overpriced and unwelcoming although it was a Monday
Oitavos is without doubt one of the best new projects to be completed in Europe in recent years, with an outstanding golf course set in a truly awe-inspiring environment.

Sites for golf courses come no better than this, where American golf architect Arthur Hills has created a masterpiece. Hills, who for many decades has been highly regarded for his projects in the United States, was extremely conscious of respecting the natural landscape and the species that it supports, and as such Oitavos has received many awards for its environmental awareness.
There are always views of the rugged Atlantic coastline from the course, which is formulated in the style of a traditional Scottish links course, with nine holes out and nine holes back home. Though not strictly a links course - the fairways are often bordered by woodland - Oitavos does have the sandy turf that makes seaside golf so special.
This new addition to Portugal's golfing landscape is more than welcome, and delights every player fortunate enough to include it in their golfing holiday.

Signature Hole: Hole 14, Par 3, 153 metres (167 yards), SI 12
Oviatos’ 14th hole rates as one the best par 3s in the world and deservedly takes the title of signature hole. When the wind is up, this hole turns into a real test and can often play much longer than its stated length of 167 yards suggests, making for a tough club selection. From the tee you will be playing over a storm gorge which then hugs the right hand side of the hole. This par 3 is a fantastic showcase of golf in Lisbon.

Another fine course with some excellent holes and views across the Atlantic. A good test
Bar and restaurant closed on Mondays in clubhouse, however staff ferried us all to hotel in buggies, so all fine in the end.
Fairly open course in places with confusing layout at times, difficult to know sometimes where fairway was. Unfortunately we were told buggies were not available even though pre booked? Worth a return visit as nice club house.
Stunning views of the sea from most holes. Greens are difficult to read
Fabulous course, open inviting fairways and terrific ocean views. Blustery conditions on the day added to the challenge. Would play this course again.
Club house disappointing. Bar Restaurante doesn’t open until 11! Overpriced overrated food. We called bus back early.
