This trip was for 12 golfers of varying experience levels, so courses were selected accordinglyWe played:-
Estoril - A nice opening day course with 13-14 very good holes, the starting few and ending two are separated by the motorway that obviously went through the course sometime ago. The holes after crossing the bridge are the better ones.
Aroeira II - A favourite of mine this one. Tall pine trees line each fairway, the fairways are soft to walk on, the greens are mostly shaded so will take a ball fired in from almost any distance.Water comes into play on several holes. A great course!
Penha Longa - A short par 72 course, not difficult in calm conditions, but play it when the wind is blowing and you'll soon see why it is a well considered course by golfers visiting this area. A must play in my opinion.
Quinta da Marinha - We last played this course four years ago and since then they have built a new clubhouse. This is very posh and modern. A good last day course as it is mostly open without too much trouble.
We stayed in Cascais at the Villa Gale. This is an excellent mid-range hotel, very comfortable rooms with good facilities.
Location is top notch, easy to find at the end of the motorway, well signpostedThe town itself is an excellent place to base yourself with multiple bars and restaurants around the square, food is generally very good and fairly priced.
As always service from YGT is excellent, always available to little tweaks and changes
Overall rating of Cascais - 9/10
