The par-72 Championship Course winds its way around the edges of the estate, and is regarded as one of the premier links courses in Europe. Designed by the esteemed Harry S. Colt, whose legacy includes the fantastic courses at Sunningdale, Royal Zoute is a demanding proposition, demanding accurate and thoughtful play from the tee.
The European Tour has made frequent visits to the Championship Course for the Belgian Open, with notable past champions including Lee Westwood, Robert Karlsson, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Darren Clarke, Nick Faldo and the great Roberto De Vicenzo. Colt's design is indicative of the strong British influence at Royal Zoute, which is an absolutely essential part of your golf escape to the Bruges area.
Encircled by the famous tournament layout is the par-64 Executive Course, which is the perfect place to find your groove in preparation for the real test.
The challenge at Royal Zoute is to match Greg Owen's course record of 62!

Lots of wispy grass around made this a tough course and therefore quite a slow round

At 120 Euro per person your expectations of this club/course are set high. Unfortunately the attitude of the club seems to revolve simply around money. When we arrived we were told that our pre-booked tee time was in the middle of a large club match (why would they do that!). As a consequence of the, very slow, progress of the club match we waited on every single shot over a soul destroying 5 1/4 hour round. On complaining they said that, if we come back next year, they will give us a discount !!
