Simola Golf Estate

Simola golf course opened in 2005 and is 6,597 yards of truly stunning golf. The par 72 course has no two holes the same and is comprised of an unusual layout with five par 5s and par 3s. The first 7 holes gift player’s with an incredible view of Knysna Heads and the Lagoon whilst the remaining 11 holes overlook the river. Arguably the course's signature hole is the beautiful short par 4 second. The tee shot is played from a well elevated tee where all seven fairway and greenside bunkers can be seen as well as a vast majority of the front nine.

Simola golf estate is designed by 18 time major winning champion Jack Nicklaus. The course is one of only 200 Jack Nicklaus signature courses in the world and is considered a must play for any golfer visiting South Africa. In true Nicklaus fashion the course is no walkover when played right from the back, but can still provide an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities when played off the correct tees.

Simola is ranked as one of the best courses in South Africa

Before the round pay a visit to the outstanding pro shop which contains state of the art golf equipment and accessories that can help you score low. Player’s on the day also have exclusive access to the superb driving range and putting green where they can hone their skills for the round ahead. Enjoy a drink after your round whilst soaking up the spectacular South African sunshine from the comfort of the incredible clubhouse. Guests can also rent a buggy which is recommended as the undulated nature of the golf course can be tiring to walk.

Simola Golf Club

Great course with some good carries and some long holes due to the elevation, but great challenge of golf. Course was in excellent condition and greens were fast. Lots of elevated tees which gave great views and interesting holes. Good facilities and staff very friendly. We will certainly return.

Great destination with superb golf
We really enjoyed playing Pinnacle Point (what a spectacular course!), Goose Valley and Simola. Our visit to Fancourt was a great way to finish off our trip. We had a very good sized room and bathroom and a short walk from the main hotel and clubhouse. Although the weather was a bit mixed we thoroughly enjoyed our games on Montagu and Outeniqua. The game at The Links was the icing on the cake. It’s a fantastic course, we had lovely weather, good caddies and good company - it was the high point of the holiday!
