Dunas Golf Course

The par-71, 18-hole golf course is one that tests every facet of your game. From driving where accuracy is rewarded alongside course management to avoid strategically placed bunkers and undulating greens.

With a choice of six tees available on each hole, Dunas Course is the perfect place to play as part of a mixed group of handicap golfers on your golf holiday in Portugal. Whilst the par-3's are a challenge, the par-5's do provide a good opportunity to make your score back if you're able to get your drive into position.

Enjoying a beautiful position, just moments from picturesque beach and the surrounding beauty of The Sado Estuary, it is easy to see why the Comporta Dunes is one that is achieving 5 star reviews from golfers playing here.

Designed by golf architect David McLay-Kidd, the layout here is utterly unique but clear to see some of his design influences from fan favourites such as Bandon Dunes, The Castle Course at St Andrews and Machrihanish Dunes are evident with undulating greens ready to punish any shots that are slightly offline and welcome plenty of 3-putts if you're unable to find the right part of the putting surface.

I’ve been playing golf in Portugal for over 20 years and this course is definitely up there with the best I’ve played. Fantastic experience, we were looked after the minute we arrived to the minute we left. Definitely recommend this course, it’s set up for all standards of golf.

Heard the hype about Dunas and it lives up to every bit of it. The best course in Portugal. With 6 tees for choice, can select your difficulty level and have an enjoyable if not easy experience. Plenty elevation changes, fantastic views and feel like playing each hole in isolation. Superb sloping greens set at a good pace. Practice range and facilities are second to none. Staff and and service level are first class. Still a relatively young course that will just get better. With new course, nearby at Torre(designed by Sergio Garcia) opening next year, this will make a 36 hole resort not to miss!

Fab experience. We replayed in the afternoon - only offered a 10% discount though. Think it should be more. Best thing that Jack did was to insist we play this one. Course was almost deserted.
