Deeside Golf Club sits on the banks of the River Dee, just west of Aberdeen, and has been welcoming golfers since 1903. If you fancy a classic Scottish parkland day out, this is a friendly, well-established members' club with two courses and a clubhouse that looks out across the grounds towards the rolling valleys of Royal Deeside.
Most visitors come for the 18-hole Haughton Course, a strategic, tree-lined layout that asks you to place the ball properly rather than simply lash driver everywhere. There's enough variety in the hole shapes to keep you engaged and, when the course is playing firm, it can feel like a proper test without ever being unfair. The 9-hole Blairs Course sits alongside it, offering a handy option if you're short on time, travelling with mixed abilities, or want something a touch more forgiving. It's also a useful warm-up round before taking on the Haughton.
Being so close to Aberdeen makes Deeside an easy add-on to an Aberdeenshire itinerary, especially if you're mixing inland golf with the region's famous links. I'd put it in the "solid, enjoyable and good-value" bracket, with a welcoming clubhouse that's well worth staying in for a post-round drink and a bit of course chat.

The Haughton Course consists of mature trees framing the beautiful Royal Deeside scenery, immaculate fairways leading to tricky greens guarded by craftily placed bunkers.
The course starts with a par 3 that offers views over the River Dee then descends through the trees with the wonderful clubhouse coming back into view as you make your way up the 13th. The final hole requires a straight drive and a good medium to long iron approach to a well protected green, some will play it as a par 5.
After golf guests can relax in comfort of the clubhouse with superb views overlooking 1st and 18th greens. A wide range of beers and spirits complimented by a carefully chosen wine list contributes to the enjoyment of the Deeside Experience.
The 9-hole Blairs Course which incorporates many of the “Old” holes from the original Haughton Course is enjoyable for all golfing abilities. Ideal for those with less time on their hands or golfers who want to practice before tackling its longer sibling.
