Designed by eight-time European Tour Order of Merit winner and 2010 Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie, The Montgomerie Marrakech is one of the headline courses in Marrakech Golf City. It sits just 4km from Marrakech Menara Airport, so it's an easy first (or last) round on a long weekend, with the Atlas Mountains and the Koutoubia providing a proper Marrakech backdrop.
This is not a brute-force layout. You'll get plenty of room from the tee on several holes, but it's a second-shot course at heart, with bunkering that asks you to pick your angles and greens that can make a straightforward putt feel anything but. Monty's routed holes past olive trees and around water features that come into play on the approach, so if you're the type who'd rather plot your way round than simply hit driver everywhere, you'll enjoy what he's done here.
If you're staying in town, you can pair a morning tee time with an afternoon in the souks or an evening around the medina, without turning the day into a long transfer mission. It's a practical choice, but it still feels open and scenic once you're out on the course.

The Montgomerie Marrakech stretches across 63 acres of land with the Altas mountins as its breathtaking backdrop. The course winds its way through the impressive residential areas of Marrakech Golf City and amounts to just under 6,900 yards.
Designed to be playable for all with wide playing areas, but still challenging, with undulating greens defended by numerous run-off areas, the course is one which can provide enjoyment to all standards of golfers depending on which tees you choose to play from. The site also features extensive practice facilities and a state-of-the-art clubhouse facing the 18th green. No stone has been left unturned in the creation of The Montgomerie Marrakech, making the course a must visit on your golf holiday to Morocco.

We were warned the course wasn’t popular but found it to be very good, only two other groups on the course, quick round 3 hrs & 10 mins. Condition good. Clubhouse nice and food & service very good. Can’t really fault it other than noise from aircraft.

I don’t know why this course was recommended. It was directly under the flight path and had a plane taking off and landing every 10/15 minutes. The course was poorly maintained and part of it was like playing in a shanty town and looked abandoned and not sure why it was recommended in our package x the club house and toilets were not good.

This was the least popular of our trip. Few people were playing it. Condition of all elements of the course were not great - the layout was good and possibly we caught it on a bad day. On arrival it was a little like the Marie Celeste - the only course we were not provided with a bottle of water

Basically had the course to ourselves, and loved every minute. The greens were immaculate! Fairways were a bit longer but assuming that’s normal for this time of year to protect against the heat. Again saw people complaining about how close it is to the airport and rubble being around etc but realistically you are in Africa, what do you expect!! We loved it

Another great course. Well maintained and in great condition. Really enjoyed playing this round, so much so we went back and played again on our rest day. Some great holes and a fabulous welcome. Facilities were great and the place looked and felt brand new. The lunch was reasonably priced and a great choice. Practice area was adequate, if not the same standard as Royal Marakesh. Definately recommend.

There is a little effort to keep the course in shape. Buggies are total crap, the first one ran out of battery after 7 holes. We had problems at the reception because they did not find our booking. There is a good restaurant connected. I urge you to look into this, there are possibilities but seems that noone cares. A lot of construction around, fencing is questionable.
