Best course we played

It only dropped a star because of the bunkers which were lacking a bit of sand. Course was challenging and very scenic. Greens were excellent. Helpful staff and good pace of play.

Didn't manage to play due to illness. Advised by other players that it was good and far superior to Samanah.

Really enjoyed it.

Great course quite tuff for the average golfer I play of 18 and scored 32 points will definitely play again

It was difficult for Hogg handicap golfers. Too much desert zone area. As I had my own new clubs we agreed as s as fourball to drop off the clay / stone areas. Would not play it again.

This was a much better course in great condition with fast greens. Recommend this one. Much better quality. Problem with booking so they put 1 group on the 10th and 1 on the 11th which worked out well.

Miss a fairway you are in stoney sand - unplayable !

Beautiful desert layout in very good condition. The greenest course of the 5 we played but the fairways were cut a little long, greens were excellent but the only bunkers with real sand were near the greens. Out of 5 courses played this would rate #2.

Maybe suffering a little from a lack of attention to detail but generally nothing to dislike

The course was unkept . Just off the fairways were boulders stones gravel and rubbish. We were afraid to play shots for fear of damaging clubs. On arrival staff repeatedly questioned if we had paid for buggies ( which we had pre paid) Another group said the the same happened to them!

Great facilities and welcoming Team, great food and drinks on the terrace afterwards. Course was in very good condition overall.

No pairing. Holes 10-18 better than 1-9 but all really good. Excellent dining facilities. Would return

Again transport from hotel quite long. Would be good to be informed what courses include the shortest transfers from hotel. Right on this travel it was not first priority for us with course architect. Distance of transport would influence choice of course more.

Over 4.5 hours for a round is too long. Often long waits on the Tee. Condition wasn’t great - very muddy bunkers and uneven tee boxes.

Worth playing but a decent way out from be live hotel about 30 minutes.

Rated hard because we all played poor. Second time playing and it’s great track. Food and staff not notch.

New course so not much plantation. Ground was hard. If you go off the course the ground was very hard with rocks so not playable. A good course if you want a test.

Great greens , fairways a bit patchy and heavily penalised if not straight as there is a lot of rough stoney ground about which you can’t really play a shot without fear of damaging club etc. Our round slowed down a bit towards the end but not really an issue as great views of Atlas mountains to take in.

A very tough course if you're not a big hitter as every tee box has desert style openings so a poor shot off the tee and you're in the rough stuff to start with,the least enjoyable out of all the courses we played.

This is a great course with interesting and tricky holes. I rated it as "hard" due to the number of dog leg holes, particularly on the back 9. Greens are fast and in good nick. Some of the fairways were a bit patchy and there's a bit too much "desert" along the sides of the fairway. I'm not happy to wreck my clubs playing from these areas. The facilities including the restaurant are top notch

Course was the worst of the ones we played and I could not recommend it to anyone. Large areas of waste land from tee to fairway, did not make it pretty, and personally I would not play it again.

Appreciate it has won awards but not the best condition and set up.

We had a 10am tee time but on arrival were bumped up to play with 2 people walking and then had a 2 man buggy behind us all the way. Seemed badly managed

An absolute pleasure to play. I would recommend though not playing off the waste land that greets the fairways, As you will ruin your clubs. Some of the holes are stunning and on this particular day, the Atlas Mountains were a stunning backdrop. The only downside is they wouldn’t take a card payment for the buggies, (cash only) But they will take euros and pounds. I know it’s harsh but we had to drop a star for that reason. 4 stars

Absolutely Stunning bit of a trek getting there but well worth it. Fantastic views of the Atlas Mountains. The course was in such good shape, it was a joy to play. Again the only niggle was that our tee time on our sheet from YGT was different to what the club had us down to play.

Good test of golf, but not quite in as good a condition than it should have been for a course of this quality. Tee boxes a bit scruffy. Still very enjoyable to play.

Nice course, enjoyed the day was a little bit slow but unfortunately that was down to the group in front of us. Overall liked the course and one I would play again if returning to Marrakech.

Very nice course. Greens were not as good as Al Maaden

Many areas for bare rock and unturfed landscape so some long carries. Challenging course in direction and length of carry. Helpful caddy master and pleasant bar staff.

A lot of rough stony ground within the course that you are expected to play from and damage your clubs.

A course in a desert with too much land being rough on the fairways and at the edges. Some long carries for tee shots to get over rough ground. We didn't have buggies and the course was gruelling and not that well signposted. The course staff were annoying- hurrying us along when there was no-one behind and when they couldn't provide buggies. A very nice bar and clubhouse and decent changing facilities.

One of my favourites , big variety of holes and fairly picturesque. More undulating than some of the other courses. Excellent condition and great facilities all round. Does have a lot of hard waste land so be prepared for your clubs to get scratched if you go offline.

Having played 4 course in Marakech this if my favorite. It is undulating unlike other local course. It also looks better visually with some really interesting holes. Only downside was the greens were poor (when we played) compared with the other courses.

Excellent course , some tricky holes all played very well, greens were first class and very true. Club house and facilities were first class.

Another excellent course, but I found it harder than Samanah. The service and facilities were top class.

This is a very nice golf course which is let down by the length of grass on the fairways, you can hit your ball to the middle of the fairway and only be able to see half the ball. This was a shame because this course should be fabulous.

Decent course and played alright, but they have recently done course maintenance so the tee boxes were overdue a cut and some fairways had longer grass than you would like.

The Assoufid is a lovely course, very well looked after and plenty of facilities at the course. Some amazing holes especially the 17th, what a hole. Would definitely visit again.

A great day out at Assoufid. The course had a variety of different hold, with some elevation and thoughtful positioning was required. Greens were a bit soft, but ran true. The course has a number of wasteland areas right next to fairways, strewn with rocks. Not great for balls or clubs. We should have adopted a lift and drop rule, so save both. A decent distance off the yellows and a fair test. Clubhouse was really good and their food and service excellent. Overall, excellent value for money.

Other than course maintenance the coarse was amazing the greens has sand on but still rolled true and didn’t wobble off line, would defo go back and play

2nd time we played and a great layout. Back 9 fairways were a bit sparse but we played pick n place. Green were good but in recovery from over seeding tees and fairways. Best to check when this is happening. Good hospitality and worth a visit.

Very odd tee boxes, have allowed them to over grow, okay when you’re driving as your ball js propped up, but not so much when hitting with an iron. Very odd they’ve let it over grow like that, couldn’t figure out why! Greens were a bit patchy, but still ran true. Fairways in good nick, customer service was great.

Probably the least good of the three we played. Lots of sand/rock run-off. Greens OK, pace of play pretty slow (why do players who drive the ball 180 yards- wait ages for the green to clear when they are over 200 yards away??)

Early in season but greens still good

This was a good course. A lot of rough areas where if you didn’t clear 160 yards dead straight then you was either taking your shot off stones/ losing your ball/ or taking a drop. Staff were friendly and driving range was really nice beforehand.

Great course and lovely people

The best of the three in my opinion. On our arrival at 7.30 the range was already set up with pyramids of range balls and on grass. We teed off at 8am and literally saw only 6 other golfers by the time we left at 1pm. The course is in fantastic condition and has no buildings around it or being built so had by far the best views and was idyllically quiet.

Nice course, very different to the others played. More like playing in Spain or Portugal. Very varied, picturesque and some challenging holes. Staff helpful, all in all a great experience

I did not expect the course to be as interesting as it was! Greens in excellent condition although not many slopes. Lots of challenging fairways. Certainly not straight forward. Highly recommended.

This was a difficult course if you strayed too far from the fairway. There were large areas of stoney and rough compacted stone along sides of most fairways so if you were in there often needs to take a drop, your clubs would have taken a bashing otherwise. Although the course was tricky, it had some awesome holes and would definately go back.. I might use my irons off the tee a little more tho!

More like a building site in places

This is another very smart course slightly further out than the Royal. We were greeted by a team of staff who took charge of our bags and loaded them into the buggies. We played from the yellow tees which gave us a good challenge. Many holes had a dessert area to drive over before reaching the fairways and they are a decent carry. The ground in these areas was very hard and rocky and we gave ourselves a local rule to avoid damaging our clubs. There are some deep gullies which, if you put a ball in, looked too dangerous to go down and recover them. We are all seniors so the younger nimble players may find them not to bad. We stopped for a couple of beers in a lovely outside seating area with plenty of shade. The bar staff were excellent.

A bit boring. IN the desert with nothing around it. Wouldn't play again

This course had much better Greens - large open expanses but hard ground and rocks - much less Grass than other courses

Cash only for the buggy fee which we knew about by researching on the web. Again facilities were good, staff very nice course playable.

Terrible disappointment. played this last year and was our favourite but has really dropped off in quality. Greens no good sadly. Super layout with some great holes but really needs some money spending. No draft beer. Buggies poor condition and one of ours actually broke down

not so keen on the style of course with all the waste areas,just personal preference the waste was very stony a club wrecker .The greens were 1 week after tining but that has to be done ,plus free range balls negative too expensive in bar£10 a bottle of beer

Totally enjoyable course

A course which will test most players. Lots of obstacles and some greens which needed some TLC. But other than that is was a pleasurable play.

Greens had several repair patches. Onsite bar extremely expensive.

Brilliant course to finish our trip on nice start to the front 9 in a par 5 just to warm you up. The course is well laid out with a couple of challenging Par 3’s and Par 4’s The only criticism was the condition of the greens which were a bit raggy around the edges but over all a super course and layout. Would definitely play this one again

Tough layout and challenge. Good variety of holes to test the golf ability.

This course has a lot to recommend it but was let down by the areas off the fairway and between holes which are stoney desert. With no rough at all to slow the ball down it was very easy to hit a really good shot that resulted in an unplayable lie or even a lost ball, i.e. the punishment was far worse than the crime. There were also a couple of weak holes on the back nine.

Stunning back drop of the Atlas Mountains. Good quality fairways but the greens were poor with lots of dry and brown patches. Turned out to be one of the windiest days we’ve ever played golf in with constant 15-25 mph winds, so became a very tough round due to the conditions.

Lovely picturesque course. No complaints here, lovely venue. Can be exposed to the wind though. Pro Shop is really expensive. Take cash to pay for the buggies, no cards.

An open course with a lot of rough, sandy and stony ground to catch you out if you missed the fairway. We also had to contend with 30-40 mph gusts of wind which blew the sand around! A challenging course under those conditions but still enjoyable. A good clubhouse to welcome us in.

Lovely track, expensive food in the club house but the setting is superb so worth a visit

Rough stony ground surrounds all fairways and makes play hard on your clubs! Greens in average condition and lots of the holes felt very similar albeit some interesting obstacles eg a bunch of palm trees in the middle of one fairway which made it more challenging. We felt that this was the least good of the courses we played and understand that the lack of rain has been a real problem in maintaining it. Maybe it would be different at other times but the stony edges to the fairway would still be there.

No grass on the driving range, all fairways uncut, patchy baked out greens. Poor course design and management caused an unreasonable delay in play around the turn.

Lovely scenery. A lot of desert grit which needed to be carried off the tee and was not gentle on the clubs if you got into it. The signage was poor on on this course and we got lost a couple of times!

The facilities at this course were well managed. On some holes we were wondering where the next hole was. Could do with more signage. Otherwise a lovely course.

Great in all respects. Caddy master really helped by putting my 2 ball a few holes into the round as a start which helped with time.

Great track, we played it twice on a recommendation. We teed off early both rounds and flew around, generous off the tee with large, mainly flat and quick greens. We too would recommend a visit or two!!

Great free practice areas, apart from putting green which was out of action. The fairways were very good, the holes interesting. Fairways were bordered by rough stony ground, not ideal to play off if you don't want to damage your clubs. Many interesting doglegs to test you. Greens were fast and true, even though they had been treated recently. Bunkers were not great. Sand was very firm, but otherwise a very enjoyable round.

Great course, very scenic and some beautiful looking holes. Some challenging tee shots and tough shots into the green. Greens got better as we got further into the round. Greens fast.

A great course that we have visited a few times. Always challenging but a rewarding course and a great day out. One will will go back to. Great staff, amazing pro and a course that congratulates you.

The front nine was great, the back nine was very challenging due to the natural hazards the course was designed around. The backdrop of the Atlas Mountains was quite special.

Amazingly beautiful course - rough was hardened earth - difficult to hit off - great experience

On arrival the course has a very relaxed feel, more like a private members club. On entrance you had to figure out where to go yourself. No assistance from staff, when you did check in it felt like you was in a lounge of a private house with a few golf items, not the typical golf club house / pro shop sign in. The course was in poor condition, it felt like it was once a very well maintained course. However, they have now given up as the tee boxes and greens were in shocking condition. The pace of play was also horrendous, at points we had 4 groups of golfers on the same hole due to slow play. No marshals on the course and no options to get drinks other than half way house. I wouldn’t reccomendation this course at all, don’t get sucked in by the internet saying it’s the number 1 golf course in Africa, it isn’t!!

Great "Desert Style" course. Interesting doglegs making you think about club selection.

An extremely slow round (5h15 for 3 people in 2 buggies - ages between 28-31 & playing off 8,18,19). The course had an extremely slow group of French ladies 2 groups in front of us. The club asked them twice to speed up and the group in front of us also asked the to speed up. They seemed to get lost between every green and tee (how I do not know) and ruined the round for us. The club tried to help but a round of over 5 hours for 3 in a buggy simply isn't acceptable! When you book an early tee time to play golf before the midday sun and then get back to the hotel resort where the 4th member of our holiday party was waiting on their own it was very disappointing. To top it all off I had a scary altercation with a caddie there who almost squared up to me and proceeded to swear at me in Arabic between the 9th green and 10th tee box. Unfortunately this all had to be reported to the club manager. Very sad.

Great course open but still very pleasing on the eye. Many tees you were standing there going WOW will playing again 100%. Buggy’s let the course down a bit very tiered but they did the job.

The course was in pretty good shape greens were really slow could have been a little better. If you got off line then it was mostly rocks and hard desert ground conditions. Club house and bar were great.

Very smart club house and course

We had a great time at Assoufid. The facilities and the course were fantastic. Very scenic, some challenging and memorable holes. Due to the heavy rain earlier in the week the course probably was not in top condition. I was amazed at how soft the course was, the fairways were a little long and the greens very slow and woolly. This did not a take anything away from the day which was a great experience. My only criticism is the lack of quality distance markers on the course. There are markers on the outside of the fairways but I found them tricky use with the amount of doglegs. Markers in the middle of the fairways would have been a lot easier to use.

This course was generally in poor condition with exceptionally poor and slow greens. The layout of the course was good.I was paired with a lovely couple who's company i enjoyed. Again the pace of play was slow. In its present I would not rush to play it again.

This was definitely the prettiest course of the 3. Stunning views and a beautifully laid out course with some great holes. However and this is a big issue for us. The tee boxes were like rough length grass and made it tricky teeing the ball up. The fairways were like rough and there was very little run out and it was frustrating hitting a great tee shot and being in long grass. Greens were patchy in places and very soft so cut up a little

Didn't enjoy this unfortunately, I just done personally thing it was ready, greens were very blotchy and was advertised as a desert course, but the desert was more like construction dirt, so wasn't very enjoyable.

Greens were very different (patchy in places0 compared to the other courses. Some great holes. long par 5s and the 17th signature hole par three was fab.

Best course we played. Great facilities. Holes unique. Food and drink affordable.

Unfortunately the course was closed for maintenance when we arrived and the course director hadn't notified our tour company,We were allowed to play but general conditions were poor,The course in good condition would be excellent and well worth a visit

Generous fairways to medium size greens.Nice practice range and staff very helpful. Very enjoyable varied layout with longish par 3's Some greens were being patched to arradicate cross over grasses growing into the bent grass but common practice in hot countries. Great views of the mountains and some stunning holes.

Nice course but there are better courses in Marrakech. The rough was difficult and a lot of pebbles and stones.

Lots of ground under repair and some of the greens also under repair. Had the course to ourselves so a quick round.

By far the worst course we have played abroad .greens , fairways , bunkers and tee boxes were appalling .staff were not interested .over charged for food and beer compared to menu prices .driving range facilities were bad .hospitality wasn't great .buggies were battered .pro shop had nothing in it

Excellent all round, couldn't find a fault one of the best courses I played anywhere. Course is in between average and hard, I play to 16 and scored well.

A number of challenging holes Overall a really good trip to Marrakech organised very efficiently by Alex - good call on the hotel and the restaurants and as I have mentioned, well worth the extra hour in the plane to play these courses rather than the frequent 5 hours in spain and Portugal - would recommend!

Course wasn't busy at all. Was in good condition - could do with a few more "interesting" holes (couldn't call it the best course in Africa!)

Loved this place. The course was amazing with every hole completely different. Desert/wasteland style course where being wide will punish you. The clubhouse was a real gem. Would 100% return here on the next trip. We much preferred this course to Royal Marrakech (Royal wasn't bad but Assoufid was exceptional).

Quite a few waste areas where you play off compacted earth. Main drawback is that it is compulsory to pay for a caddy/guide -- very nice guy but was never really going to add value to my game!!

the reason for a 4 was due to sand in the bunkers they were builders sand and wet due to sprinklers. if this was white fine sand it would be a 5. good design challenging holes which uses the contours very well.

Ground off fairways was all broken rock and difficult to locate inaccurate drives as ball bounced in all directions but if you kept it straight no problems

Good practice facilities course had an excellent layout and very good greens.only downside was if you ventured off the fairways the waste area was a bit rough with plenty of stones which wasn’t good for your clubs still would recommend playing.

Good course

Played off the whites so very challenging course, one of the favourites of the 4 courses played. Very good clubhouse and practice area.

Excellent experience from start to finish, reception, free practice facilities, stunning course. Having played Samanah course and Al Maaden all 12 golfers agreed that Assoufid was the icing on the cake.

I found this course to be the hardest of the week. The facilities and conditions were excellent

Staying on the fairways is absolutely ESSENTIAL to avoid the rough stone strewn baked ground that borders the fairways and scuffing up your clubs. It's a course that you need to plot your way around. Accuracy will defeat big wide / erratic hitters. Corona Beer = £9 a bottle

buggies offered to all with some not using them. best of the week with slopes and undulations making it interesting. slow french groups in front of us made it a slow round. bar facilities and staff were good.

Having teed off on time we caught up with two four balls of not too clever golfers !!On hole 6 the Marshall arrived and escorted to hole 13 where we carried on in quick time finishing 18 holes 45 mins ahead of those two groups We were very impressed with the staff

Assoufid remains the best course in Marrakech. It’s a great design with some challenge from the tee and interesting changes in elevation not found so often in Marrakech. Superb use of natural waste areas making second shots challenging on some holes. Excellent greens. It’s a must play course.

A must play course, though challenging with blind drives and penal waste rocky areas. The fairways and the green were in top condition, though the bunkers were not maintained properly, including the greenside bunkers, which were not prepared at all

Interesting undulating. Desert zones from tee to fairway but not too difficult to clear. 17th great par 3. Suggest buggy. Didn't lose a ball.

Big problem is that the barren areas are too excessive. I played with three women who were average golfers who on some holes they could not reach the fairways with the result that they had to pick their ball up and bring to the fairway as the barren areas would destroy your clubs with so many rocks. The first nine I found a bit boring, but the back nine were much better.

Not a bad course for holiday golf. The low index holes were tricked up & I have no idea how you are supposed to play the 14th hole. Good practice facilities. A long way from the town so not so easy to get to.

It’s okay

Friendly welcomed by the staff and great on site facilities. The coarse with green lush grass on the fairways with little water to cause any problems. Can not wait to play again.

Good test of golf but felt the course was a bit scruffy with all the waste areas

Generally well maintained but a little scruffy around greens. Greens ran fast and true but sandy.

This was the best course we played. Lots of variety. Good views.

Once more we were married up with another couple, they handicaps were iffy which resulted in slowing the game down and the marshal chasing us to speed up, personally I don't blame them. This course was quite tricky in places with dog legs and ravines in front of the greens which you are unaware of until you come around the corner. this made round interesting although the round took nearly 5 hours not much time for a quick drink in the bar before our transport picked us up, price of drinks quite reasonable.

This course was the worst we played to be fair as if u didn’t hit the fairway u landed in rocks and stones where u had to hit your shot and damage your clubs

Perhaps the best of the 4 Marrakech courses we played but only by a small margin. Super "desert" layout with no walk over holes. The 6th is a great 320 yard downhill birdie opportunity but you need to thread a needle to do so. Great course with wide ranging variety of shots required. The back 9 is demanding, with shot placement at a premium if you are to make par on any of the holes, with the split fairway 14th being most memorable. Thoroughly enjoyable and the caddies were excellent.

Superb course fantastic clubhouse , staff from the pro shop to the bar/ restaurant were excellent . Everything was spot on

The course is a mixture of desert and grass which was very well maintained. If you were not long off the tees it was a big of a lottery where your ball ended up after it hit the hard desert floor. We were paired as a four ball but experienced quite a lot of waiting due to slow play somewhere ahead of us. A great club house and general facilities.

Assoufid was a good golf course. It had a good variety of holes

Once off the fairway there wasn't much grass, mainly dirt

The caddie master realised we were a two ball and so put us ahead of two 4 balls allowing to go uninterrupted

Wonderful experience! Great layout in very good condition. Greens v firm but that’s something we felt we simply needed to adjust to. Lovely bar area etc.

Quite a challenging course for my wife who is still an inexperienced but none the less capable golfer. You need to be quite strategic with regard to playing the holes in accordance to your own game.

Seemed to be more lush grass on the fairways on this course compared to the others. Greens good too. Very pretty holes with lots of palm trees etc. Particularly liked 10th hole-good challenging hole. Food etc very good. We liked this course the best.

Very challenging course but an amazing place to play golf. There are many great holes but the 17th was fantastic (if you manage to get on the green with the first attempt)

Assoufid is well designed and long, with interesting changes in elevation. We played off the blue tees the second time, as we found it very challenging off yellow. The are also white and black tees for the lower handicaps, and I think this would appeal to the better players. The course is only 10 years old, and is located around a dry river valley. We'll watered but difficult to see where from..the nearby Atlas Mountains? Greens were moderate pace and consistent, but had grain as well as slope, which made them challenging. The only downside were the vast waste areas beyond the fairways, which are full of boulders, so we took drops to avoid club damage. The clubhouse is delightful. Modern with good club sandwiches and burgers. Again the beer was very pricey. 7.5 euro fir a 33cl bottle. No draught when we were there. The course superintendent intervened to help a slow play incident, without need to approach him. The caddy staff were good.

Yeah really nice course lots of bunkers but loved it.

From arrival to relaxing at clubhouse this was a round to remember and hopefully repeat. Great practice facilities with complementary pyramid of balls, attention to detail let’s you know this will be special. Course condition was excellent in every respect. Fairways rolling landscape and reasonably wide, but if you ran off you ended up in sandy rocky areas to be avoided. Bunkers are plentiful and strategically placed. Greens excellent with good speed and deceptive breaks. Although no water features, the scenery is spectacular with the Atlas Mountains the perfect backdrop. Clubhouse upmarket and most expensive of the four clubs we played, but definitely want to play it again.

The course marshals were the best I’ve known. We were only a two ball and they advised us to go early. The one four ball in front of us they held back on a tee (without any prompting) and we played through. We had a lovely round

Really interesting course with undulating terrain . Sadly pace of place of play was so slow that we couldn't wait in the queue ( probably 20-30 mins) to play the last 3 holes which was a shame because the 16th & par 3 17th looked to be fun to play

This was my favourite course. Very open, with Palm trees. Varied layout with some very interesting holes. Great staff, and a fabulous terrace for food after. Highly recommend.

Played 3 courses during our stay (assoufid, Royal marrakech and samanah), assoufid was the best. Stunning course, fun holes and a lot of dessert which isn't round ruining but definitely punishing.

Big areas natural ground ie almost desert as we would have gorse at home. A little strange to get ones head around. The rest of the course was lovely

We really enjoyed it but had been warned about ravines and the difficulty of some holes. As we were 4 ladies we played off the red tees and didn’t find any trouble but I can appreciate that it would be a more difficult course off the yellow or white tees as they were about 100 yards behind us!! The stroke indexes reflected this so we quite often got a shot on a short par 3. It was so good to play off decent fairways with run, in the sunshine.

Had no buggies for our party of 7 tried to put us on another course. After trying to contact them to reserve before trip but said they had an IT problem with the website. The manager was very good in the end & found 2 buggies but 3 had to walk

Enjoyed playing and not the toughest

Played it twice fairways where like the rough 1st round but 2 days later they had been cut and much better few quirky holes lot of waste land which is difficult to play off with a lot of stones

An outstanding course only 20mins from the centre of Marrakesh in a maturing setting with the Atlas Mountains beyond. Greens and fairways were in good shape and the desert waste was well designed and maintained. Some super holes allowing risk and reward for the brave of heart, but plenty of scope for the average player to enjoy. Facilities were modern and expansive with a great club house terrace looking out over the course - unless a sand storm blows in as it did with us; although, that in itself, was quite enthralling to watch!

Nice course but as first time players it was easy to end up in desert areas which were difficult to play out of. The course could have been tidier but overall was good.

The course was in very good condition & a very pleasant experiance. The staff at the golf club were excellant, even cleaning our golf clubs while we enjoyed a drink in the bar.

Need more WC facilities dotted round the course, if they wish to attract middle aged golfers. Necessary to drink lots of water to combat the heat and hidden perspiring, so water bottle stations at WCs advisable also

Good layout and a good test of golf!

Not a bad layout but not in top condition.

Clubhouse was ok, food was good. Practise facilities not as good as other places we played. Also had to wait for buggies. But we played at 11:30 on a Sunday and were the last round out, so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Course is tricky, but not overly long. What makes it harder is the fairways are green, but everything else is hard rock desert (no rough as such), so if you are a bit wild you can get some mega bounces into the desert. Out of all the courses played we all enjoyed the layout of this one the most, it was different and challenging, some open holes, some tight. One strange thing was the T Boxes have very long grass, but around them is cut (like back to front). Over may play again, but not 100%

Excellent greens and fairways. Better than Vale do Lobo in Portugal. Good course management with getting players off on time. Plenty of staff to assist with clubs and buggies. Good clubhouse facilities. Would play this course again.

Staff were friendly on arrival. Driving range was basic but right next to clubhouse. Course was a test with lots of different types of holes. Palm trees and cactus lined fairways with holes where you could go for it, and others that required a lot of thought and planning. A good variation of holes, that all had a different challenge. Club house had a nice big locker room. Patio at the back, had great views for a beer and bite to eat afterwards. Would definitely recommend to others .

Very enjoyable - in hot conditions

On this course, the tee boxes has been ciut to a length normally associated with rough, but strangely, all around the tee box was cut beautifully. Anything off the fairway was on rocks and gravel. The agent has since told us that there was a local rule giving relief, but we were not advise of this. Caused some damage to our players clubs.

Testing course and enjoyable. Only negative was a slow 3 ball in front meant we waited on every shot.

Nice course,good receptive greens. Quite hilly. They'd recently scarified the front 9 holes so they were very sandy but it didn't really affect your shots. Not a course to walk.Similar prices in the shop and bar.

We went out of season - the course was in better condition than expected and extremely quiet. The staff were very helpful.

Lovely course but I preferred Al Maaden, they were in the process of overseeding which we new about before hand. So course just lacked some interesting features

Best course we played, see saw more green staff in 10 minutes than we saw at the other 2 put together. Greens were immaculate, fairways were being hollow tined and reseeded but were fine. The fairways did run off into rough dirt so would take an old iron next time. Club house provided a good meal and the beer was cold. Would play again .

Wow, what a course, challenging with tight fairway and blind tee shot, but had breathtaking views, immaculate greens, the food was very tasty and beer cold. looking to rebook again next year

Excellent cours

It’s a lovely course, interesting and challenging, but fair, from start to finish. My only gripe is the shop staff tried to rip me off. I paid by card, the lady gave me a receipt for 180 dirhams for our two trolleys, but a payment of 270 dirhams came up on my phone, fortunately before I left the shop. It must have been deliberate and I’ll certainly be careful when I go again. My friend paid for his trolleys by cash and was originally short changed as well!

The front 9 has lots of wasteland/desert which will damage clouds if played from. Course played well. The back 9 was much superior to the front. Much more interesting. Facilities were excellent. Didn’t see anyone on the back 9 (which we played first) and despite catching a 4 ball who hadn’t got a clue about how to play the game still managed 3hrs 45mins Tees needed a cut but the greens played very well

Of the courses we played this gets 9/10. Again they tried to get us to pay for the buggy’s which we pre paid at time of booking and staff attitude changed when they accepted we had already paid.

We enjoyed the round too on a nice course, if somewhat stony.

The course setup and terrace have great views of the Atlas mountains. The welcome at the Proshop good and very professional. All the staff were friendly and worked to ensure everyone enjoyed the visit. Marrakesh is flat, but Assoufid does have contours, with some elevated tees. Several dog legs and crossings over creeks, which were dry, but if short, you will lose a ball. The greens, fairways and tees were in a reasonable condition, but there are desert areas from tee to fairway as well as either side of the fairways/greens. Most bunkers are coarse sand. Golf balls did look a little beaten up after a round. Pretty easy to walk and club has buggies, trollies, and caddies. If in a 2 ball, found a buggy provided somewhere to sit in the shade whilst waiting to take the next shot. Played three rounds varying from 4:05 hrs to 4:30 hrs. Club do try and pair up to keep it as 4 balls, but pace of play did feel a little slow. There are toilets on the course which were clean and well maintained, but there is no drinking water anywhere on the course. Relaxing clubhouse and food/beverages are reasonable cost - Tee times were accurate, therefore giving driver a pickup time of tee time plus 5 hours worked.

Lovely course with a good mixture of holes. Hit the ball straight and you can score well. Hit it off into the fairway traps can make it harder. Only issue is the stones and rocks when you land off the fairways. One of the best here

We played Al Maaden then the Royal Marrakesh and this was different challenge again long carry’s off the tee made for a interesting round. I would play all 3 courses again with out hesitation.

Good test, didn't enjoy the fact when went off fairways the ground was like concrete and not suitable to ground clubs.

Lovely course great clubhouse

The first time we played this they asked us to start off the 10th so we wouldn’t have to wait. When we came round to play the front 9 there was a massive back up which resulted in us playing 2 holes in one hour. So we walked off the course and complained. The course Marshall had told us that 2 sets of players had turned up without a reservation and they had let them play. It was awful. We spoke with the manager of the club and he tried to ensure our second round would be better by putting us earlier. Our second round was much better although we found the slopes on the course resulted in balls rolling, often into rubble areas on the edges of the course. So not as enjoyable as the other courses. The bar/restaurant was pleasant

This was definitely the least friendly course we played although not unfriendly. Green fees included range balls. The course was very nice but includes a lot of waste areas so I would recommend carrying an old pitching wedge to avoid scratching your clubs. Lunch was good and reasonably priced.

we found the carries to the fairways too long and had to hit from the dirt.There was no starter to advise us and on the card it said that the dirt was an integral part of the course and the ball must be played as it lies.

The course was busy and the staff helpful. The first nine holes were, we found, better than the second nine holes. We did enjoy the course but did not find it as enjoyable as the Royal Marrakech.

Wow -- what a course. Desert, lush fairways, mountains, ravines, cacti, bunkers, water OMG.. great but challenging. had a fantastic four being paired with a married, German couple. Knackered though due to three intensive days in 30 degrees but what an adventure and I learned so much. Great course

Wonderful course - I’d definitely play there again. The course was beautifully presented and in great condition. The facilities are excellent.

Played this one off the yellows so it was not as long as the others. I scored well but had a great day with my short game. Each hole looked spectacular and there were some breath-taking views of the Atlas mountains.

A fantastic setting. More undulating than other Marrakech golf courses. Some excellent views of the mountains.

Golf course, facilities and staff were fantastic. Although the course was busy we were not pressured at anytime by golfers in front or to the rear. The restaurant, food and staff are excellent. We would definitely recommend anyone looking for a golf course in this area to put this club at the top of their list. We will go back.

from the whites and black tees this is a tough course, some of our group moved up and played the yellows, over all we found this a great course, well set up and the pick of the 3 we played

Would have liked to have a caddie which would have made a very good day even better. Food and wine and clubhouse were very good. Met the club manager or pro who was very welcoming. Really appreciated the hospitality. Will be back to play here again for sure.

Our favourite course of the week. It has the advantage of not being flat and there are interesting altitude changes. The dry water courses mean they are small canyons to go over as well as waste areas. The course is very challenging off the white tees with a number of long par 4s. All the par 3s are good holes as well. The greens were a little slower than some of the other courses but quite difficult to read. Again this is a relatively open driving course but you need to drive it straight and long to reach the green in regulation.

This is by far one of the best courses in Marrakesh. The group thoroughly enjoyed this course as well as the facilities. We will definitely book this course again soon.

The nice layout and a good golfing test. Some of the tees, greens and fairway were a bit sandy in place, maybe due to maintenance. Although many of the holes had desert round and on some you needed a decent carry to get to the fairway. There were also areas where you had bolders or large stone, admitting if you went in these areas it was a poor shot, but you risked damaging you clubs to get your ball back on the fairway. But by and large we enjoyed playing Assoufid

Extremely friendly staff. Great layout and good practice facilities. This was the best out of the 4 we played and it's only 5 years old! You would have thought it was 25 years old.

Lovely course, will definitely go again would advise that if you are going to play this course agree what you do if your ball leaves the fairway as very stoney

A great pity that French golfers can't be bothered to rake bunkers. Particularly noticeable on this Moroccan course, given we have played it three years running now. Bunker etiquette by visitors needs to improve, or green staff need to be deployed to rake bunkers during busy times!

Signage between holes needs to be improved. Enjoyed the coursed but there was a lot of rocky areas to carry from tee boxes and off the fairways which meant placing the ball on to grass area otherwise there was the risk of ruining ones clubs.

The most pleasing course to the eye, of the 3 we played. Not just a flat desert course with tough greens. The course is undulating with hidden hazards. The director of golf took the time to chat with us and other groups on the terrace, recommending other courses and places to see, which was a good touch.

Really enjoyed this course. Greens and fairways were the best quality of all the courses we played in Marrakech and the holes were interesting with plenty of doglegs and hidden bunkers.

We enjoyed the game. The staff were courteous and helpful. I do think that there could have been a bit more information about the facilities and the course from the pro. shop. Overall experience was good.

This report broadly is the same for our overall holiday experience on the courses booked by YGT. We may have been unlucky but the course was blocked up by a large group of French, who appeared to be playing a tournament moving from one course to another and we in tow! We witnessed 8, 6 and 5 people in the groups ahead moving very slowly ignoring normal golf etiquette. The course encouraged caddies and the group in front used their caddy as a teacher, naturally slowing things up. We reported our feelings and the Manager (a scot) took our concerns on board, and said he needed to brief the marshalls more firmly.

For a lady that doesn’t have a big hit the carry over the dirt/shale area on some holes is vast. Mainly on the front 9 so this course does need course management. Can’t fault the greens,views and the club house facilities. The Atlas Mountains in the background is stunning.

This was an excellent golf course. It was in excellent condition, the fairways and greens were excellent and it was very picturesque. We really enjoyed our round here, the holes are well set out and no two are the same, all having their own character. This was the best of the three courses we played. A very enjoyable experience.

A tricky desert course with a few challenging holes. We played the front nine at average speed but the back nine was very slow with four groups waiting on a par 3.

In my opinion this is the best and most pleasant of the courses in Marrakech. Most new courses feel that they have to include huge water features and dozens of bunkers. Golf is not a water sport and Assoufid has none. Great venue with stunning views of the Atlas Mountains. Super

The best of the four courses. Did not like the long carries off the tees and the mud traps. The 17th was the most memorable hole all week.

Another excellent course which will also mature into a very good test of golf. Fairways could have been cut a bit shorter but obviously they are still relatively new. Facilities very good.

Not difficult to understand why Assoufid has recently been voted top course in Africa. Course was again in superb condition with some holes demanding some thought rather than hit & hope. Par 3 17th hole requires some serious consideration.

A really great back nine with lovely holes that test you across the entire bag. Fairway grass was long but this is understandable due to the heat. Recommended as a must play.

Very quiet so not under any time pressure, which is good as it was very hot. Interesting course which is a good challenge for a mixed group of golfers. Good greens.
