The Al Maaden course is characterized by its meticulously maintained fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and beautifully landscaped water features. One unique aspect of the course is the incorporation of rectangular pools, paying homage to the famous Menara gardens of Marrakech.
The results are spectacular, as Phillips has used his undeniable gift to manipulate the varied terrain, in so creating a course that assimilates perfectly with its surrounding environment. The indigenous foliage punctuates the landscape, where Phillips course is a measured challenge that can be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities.
Unlike the great architect's other projects, notably Kingsbarns, Al Maaden has not been created with the aim of becoming an international tournament venue. Rather, it is a gem that is sure to be enjoyed by generations of golfers for years to come.

5 hour round in a Sunday. 4 ball ahead of us was so slow. Marshall finally came out when we were on 17th tee to tell us to hurry up !

Can’t fault the course or any part of the set up apart from buggies Booking was for 8 persons with 4 buggies Arrived on the tee to be told no buggy’s available,after a lot of discussions they managed 1 buggy to start us off so 6 players needed to use pull trolleys At this point we were informed the the group would be refunded the buggy amount 2nd buggy came after the 1st & 2 other buggy’s came by the 2nd Almaddan & akenza are twinned golf courses so we had problems on both Course was good greens were slick but after the fiasco at the start didn’t seem well organised

The best course we played by far. The staff were all amazing and couldn’t have been more helpful. The variation of the holes made for a great round.
