We were disappointed in this course. Perhaps we expected more from the name, but we found it a bit run down and the course a bit random. Apparently it used to be a nine-hole course and they added the new nine in the first half. It didn’t help that the previous night’s heavy rain meant that we had to keep the buggies to the cart paths, resulting in some serious walking up steep hills, but the buggies were included in the price. There were some interesting and challenging holes but, generally, we deemed it our least favourite course of the week and we wouldn’t rush back. It was also slightly odd to be warned by the Course Marshall, on more than one occasion, to make sure we kept our valuables on our persons at all times although, in practice, we never saw anyone on the course that we thought shouldn’t be there. The club house was very pleasant with good views to the sea. We rated the food here very highly – the club sandwich was awesome!
Marbella has a wealth of golfing gems, but few are as celebrated as the Marbella Golf & Country Club, which was laid out by the esteemed Robert Trent Jones. The championship layout at Marbella is majestic, flowing over the rolling hills of the Costa del Sol, this course is ranked in the top 75 layouts in Spain.
Found just outside of Marbella, the club is in a great location for anyone staying in the popular beachside town, making it ideal for those considering a tour in the Costa del Sol. Like many of the other epic courses in the area, Marbella Golf & Country Club has become a fan-favourite, once you play it, you’re sure to return.
